People giving Jeff shit on tumblr for not wanting to see that space raccoon movie too. They should bring back Screened podcast but it would be just Jeff and Dan shitting on movies and listing the latest ones they have not seen.

I thought people have learned by now that Jeff has terrible taste in media.

Yes, but have you seen The Usual Suspects?

You got some classics to look forward to, my illiterate friend. I am jealous of your illiteracy. I, in turn, am an action film illiterate. I've seen T2 and Die Hard 1, but that's more or less about it!

I'm with Jeff on not wanting to see GotG.

All action flicks or just big Hollywood action? Am I to believe that you have never seen a kung fu movie of any kind?

I barely watch movies. I'll see maybe like 4 or 5 a year. And I don't mean in theaters, I mean in total. Last year I watched The Hobbit, Star Trek Into Darkness, Gravity, Battle Royale, and Pitch Perfect. This year I've seen American Hustle, Anchorman 2, and Desolation of Smaug, and the only one of those I really liked was Anchorman 2. I'm planning on seeing Guardians of the Galaxy though.

Ok Adolf...

Watching Twister 20 times is time well spent!
bitch pls

I know all about guilty pleasures, but if he likes movies, cares enough to share this info and there's so many important movies he hasn't seen yet, bah gawd, he should go out there and watch those first instead of B-tier movie reruns.

edit: also, fuck Torque

I am not a movie or TV person at all. Haven't seen a whole episode of Seinfeld even. My list of important films or shows that I haven't seen would be so long. I agree with the earlier poster though, Dan just embraces his ignorance more than most people.

My most watched film ever is Twister. Saw it in the cinema at release when I was 12, and probably 20+ times in the last 18 years.

Robocop for me. I got this double-bill VHS with Robocop 1 and 2 from my parents around age 10. I wore that tape out, probably got close to 50 views before I got hold of a VCD version (which I swear was worse quality, but it was a VCD so I thought it was cool).

Dumb story - when I was in secondary school, this girl shook her cleavage in my face (joking around) and I shouted "I'd buy that for a dollar!". Our teacher, barely able to contain his laughter (must have been a fan too), sent me to the headmistress's office :(

Yeah, I'm no Torque fan.

I've watched Commando about 30 times though. I regret nothing! And that's no guilty pleasure, I love that movie without any hint of irony.

edit I've also watched The Wire and Deadwood about 4 times each. That's a lot of hours compared to a movie. Out of the stuff on Keyser's list I need to watch season 4 of Arrested Development. Tried to watch it a couple of months ago but gave up after episode two, I love the original run so I probably need to give that some more time.

Jeff is super stubborn (feels like the wrong word choice). That is fine. I just don't understand it.

I usually don't get into fantasy things, but enough people told me that Harry Potter was good, that i eventually read them. Guess what? It was pretty great!
I don't care if Jeff sees guardians of the galaxy or not. There are plenty of good movies i have never seen. But to be so angrily opposed to it...

It is like when people hate whole genres of music. "I like everything except rap", "i like everything except country". There are good and bad things in every genre, to discount the whole genre just seems silly.

Whatever, I realize I am being one of those annoying tumblr people now.

You should definetly watch Jaws and shawshank, and then read a clockwork orange and every philip k. dick book.

My most watched movie (during adulthood) would probably be Airplane!, that shit's got a lot of watches.

Commando and Top Gun are pretty close, though. I could watch all of those at any time. So good.

You should watch A Clockwork Orange and My Neighbor Totoro back to back just to see how amazing and different cinema can be.

Not a bad idea but I'd pair Totoro with Grave of the Fireflies. Don't skip out on Clockwork Orange though.

I actually think the movie is better than the book.
Also yeah, Philip K. Dick is mandatory reading, just a genius guy.

If we're going by favourite movies and not what I consider the best movies of all tme, I'd probably have to go with Commando or Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels. Those are the two movies I can just rewatch any time. Airplane! and Ghosbusters is on that list too, for sure.

Do you think there will come a day when the GB thread is moved to off topic?

Then we would have to take the Super Best Friends thread with us. That thread is 90% anime talk. I really like that YT channel, but understand about half the words being written in that thread.

Top five favorite movies:

1. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
2. In Bruges
3. Dark City
4. Out Of Sight
5. Snatch

Go.

Ask me tomorrow and I'll have a completely different list.

1. High Fidelity (Obligatory since we're doing top 5s)
2. Legend of Drunken Master (a.k.a. Drunken Master 2)
3. Silence of the Lambs
4. Back to the Future
5. Chasing Amy

Now I am just imagining Totoro dancing and beating people. A Clockwork Totoro would be something I would want to see.
lol

I was thinking Totoro would be a good palette cleanser after Clockwork Orange. Whereas Grave of the Fireflies just sends you into a deep depression.
