Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

He had plenty of time to think this over and say it in a simpler way, yet he is still making a mess of a pretty simple message.

Yup, this all sounds like the decision to go public came down to the wire. If the head of xbox struggles this much to clarify it all, it must be really early days.

Zelda is good guys. Really good.

Edit: That FFXV demo was hot garbage though. It felt like it was trying to be a Platinum game that took itself seriously but played closer to a Musou game. I didn't even know there was magic until the last attack of the game.

Why even try to bring 4K TV into this? I mean Sony electronics is going, "whatever dog, we will sell these 4K TVs you want." How about a simple message of, "Hey, we have most powerful console at an excellent price."

Hmm, I'm hoping we do get scorpio exclusives later on though. It would be disappointing if we didn't but at the same time, I'm sure they don't want to leave anyone behind.

okie doke

so it's up to developers what to do with the overhead, just like with every console before it. games that run natively at 4K will be downsampled.

Because it's designed for 4K.

I have no idea why Phil wants someone to buy an Xbox

Microsoft does not give a shit if you own an Xbox One if you're willing to play the games on Xbox Live via Windows 10. Software and services, hardware agnostic as much as they can be. That is Microsoft's core philosophy since Nadella took over; this is just how it applies to Xbox.

Scorpio, Xbox One S, and the current unit are entirely meant to be options for people who don't have or want gaming-ready PCs, or want a console option on their TV. If this means you go PS4 for Sony exclusives and a PC for Xbox exclusives and multiplatform, Microsoft is entirely happy to have you as a customer on Windows 10. They lose money on the console; they make it on the games, memberships, and accessories. If you're buying those latter three and not buying the loss leader...I think they're okay with you.

It's really weird that they are pushing 4K so much. It's like they are using it as a buzz word to describe the power difference. I would assume most devs are going to aim for 1080p 60fps?

Like are games going to have straight up better textures and visual effects? Because that's something that Microsoft has to allow them to do.

I find Microsoft's focus on 4K frankly idiotic. 6TF is only going to get you 30fps at 4K with current graphics. Maybe.

Wait... He said every game will run on all the systems? Is that right?
Yeah, at least for now. It would make sense a few years down the line when the Scorpio successor is out, they'll probably drop Xbox one, kinda like how apple drops older iPhones.

All conjecture but would make sense like 5 years down the line or something

I hope Jeff asks him if VR games will run on Xbones

They keep saying no exclusives for Scorpio but does that include VR?
actually he said no first party games will be exclusive. So you'll get your halo 6 on all Xboxes but an oculus store game not published by MS can be Scorpio exclusive

I feel like they probably have to sell it as "nah this is for 4K TVs" at first so that they don't openly canabalize their already badly selling console for the next year and a half.

Maybe?

He did say that which I think is a different message that had already been stated.

That's what I thought. I could have sworn they had previously said, "It's up to the devs," before.

In time that makes sense to me. But in the short term, this sounds like a mandate to appease original Xbox One customers. I just feel like it's not what was said earlier.

It sounds like that's what they want. HEaring them boast about how much more powerful Serpico was than the Xbox One, I imagined it was basically going to be the Xbox Two, but it sounds more like all that power is simply to get existing games to run in 4K, which makes me wonder how much of a difference that will make to the average consumer?

Yes Phil, you should be able to play your games on whatever system can run them....like my 360 jrpg's that aren't bc
I bought Eternal Sonata during the sale some weeks back. Waiting for that to go BC so I can play it on a system that doesn't sound like a jet engine. Love my 360 tho.

On topic, if I play Gear 4 on my One with a friend playing on PC, how does chat work? Likely noob question, I know.

Chat works, voice.

REALLY like what I'm hearing from Phil. Sounds like he's finally able to shift xbox in the direction he thinks it should go.

Hey guys, are these guest sessions put up on youtube?

Missed the beginning of Phils session
