Wait, so they're "only" doing 3 nights of E3 guests
(I know they must be difficult to put together, so it's totally reasonable)
Wish it was more or they did stuff with developers at GDC again because GB always get good stories/discussions from the people that work in the industry

I believe three guest shows has always been the norm.

The James Brown comment was obviously Dan trying to troll Alex when Alex said that ska has a lot of horn music. Dan's a huge James Brown fan, he knows what that music is.

I'm so tired of people acting in disbelief at the things Dan says. It's gotten to the point where it just comes of as disingenuous. It's like, don't you guys ever interact with normal non games industry people?

I watched the whole EA stream, but when Bethesda cams up, I became very confused... Where did this whole "weed" thing come from? What very crucial piece of context did I miss?

This whole "DAN IS DUMB OH DAN!" broke for me when he asked about the Ave Maria song. No. Just no.

But as long as people react that way he'll continue doing it.

You need to watch the last part of GB's Talking Over EA video, where they watch the Battlefield 1 event.

what does being in the games industry or not have to do with knowing what is or isn't ska?

Ready for a new day?

EDIT: it seems like the EZA thread has now reached the point in the lifecycle where they have to deal with criticism of team members a bit more.

Ugh that Titanfall 2 stuff, Austin's excitement is infectious.

Although anyone trying to grapple onto another pilot after launching is a damn fool when you can just shoot that asshole in the face.

It means that normal people outside of this gaming focused bubble can be as ignorant about everyday life as Dan Ryckert.
The hellscape of the average person can make a significant amount of people support lunatics in politics and also garbage like microwaving your credit card out of fear of getting tracked by the government and even stupider things people in their 40s and up do.
You want to keep your sanity by not acknowledging these terrible facts about human beings so seal yourself away if you want peace in your life.

Watching the Bethesda coverage I was struck by how homogeneous the opinions are at Giant Bomb, even with the expanded staff. I don't think you could get another eight people with less diverse taste in games.

Wow judging this from a single Bethesda conference is some asinine shit, these guys do not get along when it comes to mario and mario related products.

I think their reactions to these things have nothing to do with their taste in games. They've been seeing these conferences for years and know what to expect from them so they most likely just look at them as nothing but potential for laughs.

I want my GB reactions to the dumb shit, I'll worry about what they actually think about the games when they come out.

I mean...what other opinion was there to have about the Bethesda conference? It's literally the most dry and pointless conference with nothing going on. Dishonored looked neat, Quake was kind of a neat surprise that didn't show anything, and everything else was a known quantity.

I'm still in disbelief of the whole weed thing. These conferences are winners for reasons entirely unrelated to them.

Of course, GB wins again.

Just finally caught up on the post-conference EA thing. Holy shit. Good stuff.

Edit:
Guys, guys. Bonus Hitman episodes in Sapienza and Marakesh have been announced for next month. You know what that means.

And this looks already amazing, whatever it is

Fuck yes. Gimme dem night maps.

Speaking of Hitman, part of the dev team for the game is at E3, right? They have a stream later this week IIRC. Wouldn't it be funny to do a sort of Quick Look/mini podcast with them?
