Giant Bomb @ E3 2016 | WEED3

I could see Bakalar happening before Patrick. Patrick just bought a house.

I think Bakalar's job is pretty safe. Not sure why he'd leave CNET for GB though that would be an awesome add. Patrick coming back would be cool and that whole Gawker mess is, well, real shitty. The house/Chicago thing doesn't matter as much, but he would feel kind of disconnected from the rest of the staff at that point.

Hire on Gita as well! We need some sailor moon coverage.

Last Lockdown?!

I really like the more scheduled format to give their guests better interviews and such, but I do miss the complete spontaneity of say the year they were in the house... Just random people walking in the front door as the night rolled on.

Not impossible Pat might do articles from Chicago for them and the odd feature. GBEast has become a team rather than individual features - I imagine having Austin on point for the news stories does not work great in tandem for this.

Was Sam issue with Patrick but honestly his articles were just better. Austin's often just tick boxes of what is required.

Or that is what he wants you to think?

I would assume him buying a house in Chicago is not part of some elaborate ruse.

That being said: Austin came on at the start of June and Dan/Jason was the start of July. I don't necessarily think it's a new hire (wasn't the recruitment for all 3 of those positions posted publicly?) but it would be the right time of year for it.

EDIT: I do like Patrick, but he's doing fine at Kotaku and I'd really rather see new hires be like Austin, giving relatively new voices a bigger platform rather than just moving established people around.
