Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

Blown away by how fucking fun that Rabbids game looks, holy shit.

I smell a Best Surprise in the offing!

He'll get it on the list through the Invisible Inc. protocols.

That, Zelda, Horizon and PUBG are the stone-cold locks so far.

Everyone was smiling during it too, even gerstmann.

Dumb question. I just got an Android. Is there an easy way to download giantbomb E3 videos to my phone for viewing later so I don't burn thru data?

Get any YouTube downloader, dump the files into the Movies folder, and play with MX Player.

you know What's Good™?

Waypoint's E3 podcasts

Are they just the Periscopes? Might listen instead of watching if so.

I feel bad because I haven't listened to most of Waypoint Radio; they got kinda spoilerly which I'd be ok with but I actually cared about Dishonored 2/FF15 and stopped when they started discussing those, so... it's been a while. And I'm weird and mostly like to listen chronologically for podcasts like this, so I only just started listening again with their pre-E3 episode. I'm looking forward to going into the backlog though; I enjoyed the more serious questions they answered and enjoy their staff a lot.

I love that the Lead Dev was tearing up a bit when Miyamoto and Yves shouted him out too. That must have been a great moment for him :)

What was the concensus among the stuff with Nioh?

Everyone that played it liked it a lot. I think Jeff and Jason mosltly played it and Brad kept saying it was interesting but never played it iirc

I can't think of anything that's going to make Son'y conference super note-worthy.

So maybe a new IP makes it a big deal.

I've seen enough GoW, It's a purchase no matter what so I don't care if they show it.

I am really excited to see a follow up to Spiderman so there's that.

This is a weird E3 for me. Lots of very interesting stuff I don't think I'll ever play.

Won't play Mario Rabbids but that was one hell of a reveal. Mario with a gun in a Xcom style cover strat RPG with tech trees and fucking Rabbids. That might be the most surprising reveal at e3 ever to me. Can't think of something I thought I'd see less.

Probably won't play BGAE2. I'm interested to see what the actual game is but I won't count myself among the big fans of the first one.

Online Pirate game looked kind of cool but I'm not marking it on the calendar.

No xbox, so anything from MS is kind of out.

FarCry 4 was ok, but after playing it I considered myself done with Far Cray barring some major gameplay changes. FC5 looks ok but if I'm just skinning, marking guys and climbing towers, you can keep it. The premise seems cool but they may already be backing away from it.

It's not like I expect Sony to 'win' E3

Lots of cool stuff to see this year but very little that's instantly going into the must play column.

Now that I'm caught up on the thread and have looked more at a twitter and all- I'm sorta surprised that a lot of people seemed to know about the Rabbids leak but not that it was XCOM-like? I guess it was stated more clearly in one of the smaller leaks and wasn't as obvious in the internal slides leak, but I'm pretty sure it still did mention tactical stuff there?

You're an hour early.

oh, I was going off this schedule

I dunno, Days Gone could be interesting. It wasn't a great demo last year, but reading about the game made it seem like it was a lot more than just a billion zombies on screen at once.

Don't own a Playstation but I'm in this to see more destiny 2 and some red dead hopefully. What other third party titles do they have marketing for aside from COD?

The crying Mario dev seems like a real sweetheart.

In 2002, Davide Soliani had discovered that Shigeru Miyamoto, legendary Nintendo games designer, was in his home town of Milan.

He spent days calling around hotels to find out where Mr Miyamoto was staying. When he finally discovered it, Davide camped outside the hotel in the rain for 10 hours to meet him.

12 years later, in 2014, Soliani would meet Miyamoto again. Only this time, he is the creative director at Ubisoft Milan, and now he's pitching the Mario creator a game that combines the Mushroom Kingdom with the crazy world of the Raving Rabbids.

"Three and a half weeks after that internal meeting, we took the opportunity to create a small prototype and present it to Nintendo. When I finally met Mr Miyamoto, the creator of my favourite game and the inspiration of my whole career, I felt like I was divided in two - the passionate Nintendo player, and the Ubisoft creative director. I was split between the urge to ask for an autograph, and the responsibility to represent the game in the most professional way.

"He told us that he was impressed, so it went well, but he kept asking us how it was possible for us to have Mario and Luigi in our game, because they look identical to the Nintendo ones. But the truth is, even if we had just three and a half weeks to come up with that prototype, we decided to recreate Mario and Luigi from scratch. We looked at all the Nintendo games we could, to make sure we translated their essence into our game. And I do believe that it was in that precise moment that we truly convinced Nintendo about our passion and our commitment. "

GotY discussion will be very interesting

I feel like BotW's chances at number 1 are dependent on how hard Brad goes to bat for that game

I hope there's blood this year. last year's GotY conversation was the weak point of all their GotY stuff.
