Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

"Haters are like my cheese graters because they take a block of something that I can't get my mouth around and they turn it into something really good, and that's-- that's shredded cheese for me."

Daaaamn that CBSi money getting them a hotel room just for the bathroom.

My First E3 has become the podcast that makes me pause other podcasts so I can listen to it immediately. A treasure.

Also, $9.99. About a year ago I would've said $6.99, but now that I'm out of school - I can spare the extra $3. Still, anything beyond the $10 line for a sandwich is extortion.

Its so fucking good and I'm going to be sad it will only be this week.

Jesus, Griffin is bougie as shit.

Hmm

Watching the Day 2 thing and, as last time I think, I LOVE the Jeff & Phil Spencer talk. I'm not even an Xbox fan, but the guy just seems super nice, legit and all around like a great guy to talk to. He doesn't marketing bullshit too much, except when he has to, he's doing jokes about his own brand and he's at least sounding like he's a honest guy at pretty much all times.

Love that part and huge props to Phil that he's always doing this with Giant Bomb.

If Johnny V doesn't do something stupid I will be massively disappointed.

I honestly think that might be a problem.

That is, of Johnny thinks he HAS to do something stupid every year even if he doesn't want to so he doesn't disappoint people.

Of course, it could all come naturally to him when drunk.

I'm aware. I think they had talked about consulting jobs on the bombcast that week and his comment was regarding that conversation. Like I said, I don't remember the specifics but I think that is what Real Hero was referring to.

The way that Jeff and Brad have always talked about it isn't that they hate the idea of consulting its just that they wouldn't be able to trust someone who worked in that field to review games for their former employers.

If I remember correctly he wasn't sure if Giant Bomb would want to have someone on that works as a consultant. I don't remember the exact details though.
Jeff G has also expressed several times that he felt selfconscious about his last appearance on GB's late night E3 show. He was still recovering from his back injury at that time and felt that he couldn't live up to his usual level of excellence.

I have a ton of stuff to catch up on from yesterday, still haven't gotten through Day 2. But, like a few others (and the GB crew), I was blown away from Odyssey's reveal trailer, and then as I watched the Treehouse demo my excitement decreased since it didn't look as good. But with more videos and shit coming out I think the treehouse just isn't good at showing off Mario. Odyssey looks nuts

Also $8 is the most I'd spend on a meatball sub

Hey, everyone! Just want to clarify (I know most of the comments are jokes, but still): None of the Giant Bomb folks I've had on my podcast (The 1099) implied that they're leaving.

I, like all of you, need Giant Bomb in my daily life to function. So whenever I talk to one of the guys, I like to dig into the dynamic of the site and pick their brains on their roles there. I asked Vinny if he (or anyone else) almost feels like they have an obligation to keep the crew together--just because so many people love what they do and a single "main member" leaving could throw the entire thing off.

By the end of the conversation, I could tell they're all super devoted to building GB and no one seemed to give me the "I'M OUT" impression.

Again, thanks for all the feedback on the shows! I really, really hope to get Brad on in the future (and possibly even the new millennial GB wave...?)

you haven't had brad on because he's leaving

Oh, oops, I'd missed that the later segments from Nite 2 went up earlier.

Guess I'll just watch the last segment for now and leave the other 2 I missed for another time; they seem solid but that final segment's basically entirely people I'm really happy to see on.

Seriously, abby is close to being the funniest GB member already. I would love for the ben and abby podcast to continue through skype or something.

Absolutely, going into E3 I was wondering how the newbies would be able to distinguish themselves. They ended up fitting in perfectly, and it seems that Jeff must be giving them their own room to breath and do what they want. These little podcasts that Ben and Abby have put together are awesome, and they play so well off of each other. Hopefully, we won't have to wait for GOTY to get some more interaction between them.

I really want this too, but I wonder what focus it could take to merit being its own thing. They already have 2 podcasts that tackle news/emails/what they're playing/etc.
