Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

You should see the main thread on it. People calling for legal action, lol.

$500 is steep and I'd probably pay it since I don't spend money on PC gaming anymore, but it's obviously a tough sell to the mass market.

I had to take a peek into that thread

you weren't kidding

holy shit

Watching the We Talk Over Microsoft video from last year, and I'm reminded how they had zero clue about HDR. Jeff unironically asks "That's what Half Life 2 had, right?" and everyone agrees.

I view GB more as entertainers than anything so stuff like this doesn't make me mad or anything but I just don't understand how your average forum poster is more well informed about gaming related info than games press. It's not just a GB thing either, it's like a consistent phenomenon.

I just looked at that thread... Good God, E3 hasn't even officially started and Gaf has lost it's mind.
GB thread is always my safe space during E3. It's scary out there.

Meh it was pretty new tv junk.. I never heard of it before last E3 either but I also don't care about 4k yet.

When tvs start using gsync get back to me.

The weird thing is on one of the podcasts recently they were struggling to pinpoint the recent timeline of Need for Speed games and I knew it better than them exclusively due to THEIR PREVIOUS DISCUSSIONS of the series. Like the only place I heard people talk about those games. The only Need for Speed I've ever played is Hot Pursuit.

I can kinda understand with HDR. It's an odd concept, and multiple other things have been called HDR in the past. But man, they regularly make proclamations on the podcasts that are just false. Like you said, it doesn't make me mad I just find it weird.

Googling during the show wouldn't make for good listening.

West coast just needs to add a corrections section like Beastcast.

I get the whole "who cares about their marketing strategy you sheeple" thing, but honestly why would you leak the price less than 12 hours before the pitch where you get the official price and the context for whether that price could be justified or not? I don't even care about Xbox, its just kind of dumb imo.

Totes. But they often (Alex especially) say things they clearly don't know about, whether it's a release date or sales numbers or whatever else. Just... don't make shit up!

I've already made a bigger thing of this than I intended. I just notice it regularly. Still my favorite game podcasts and site, of course.
