Giant Bomb @ E3 2017: <>

The Sony presser made me appreciate the Microsoft one in a whole new way. Atleast they took the time to arrange a show. They had people with controllers, unveiled a car, had people coming and going...

Beyond the initial music number, Sony pressed play on a video playlist.
I really do wish sony’s conference broke up the trailers with real people talking, but are you really praising Microsoft for unveiling a car at their E3 conference?

Sure I guess we'll see, and I'm suppose to endure those Rabbids for 40 hours. Oh my.

Meh, I find the Rabbits to be funny so there is that.

All I am saying is that, it could have more depth than we can imagine considering we have seen an early level of the game so far.

It's okay if most of what they had to show was known quantities, but at least imbue the presentation with some personality, some heart, SOMETHING. It's what Ubi and Bethesda got right.

I don't think most of those games looked great. God of War looked cool for me and that was it.

I didn't care for those games when they were released and I certainly don't care for them now.

Ubi managed to inject a bit of sincerity and humanity into their presentation. It made a huge difference.
Absolutely agree. It's pretty embarrassing how the internet has selected them as the company du jour to hate on because they have a lot of people that pretty clearly really love what they are making and they have a really diverse array of games that they make under one roof. Extremely impressive company.

I approve but youre missing Sonys

Yeah, added.

Like I said we will see soon, but judging from the few times Ubisoft and even Nintendo have made SRPGs I'm not holding my breathe.

I feel like that last PSX was actually a much better conference than this one. A little too pandering for an E3 setting maybe but it had heart and gave time to smaller games like Yakuza and Ys, which really deserve to be highlighted.

Mario x Rabbids is my game of show.

This E3 was fine. It's not last year or 2015 but we got spoiled twice in a row. Go back to pre-2013 E3s and see how bad those conferences all were in comparison. Fucking graphs everywhere. Sales numbers. Suits on stage talking.

This E3 was enjoyable, despite being more low-key.

Don't let Jeff's cynicism get to you.

They hung people by their feet during a super boring gameplay segment, buddy.

It most certainly was. Looking forward to watching Nintendo's tomorrow and Sony's but with GB commentary. I'm excited for Jason's reaction to Monster Hunter more than anything else.

My conference ranks:

Ubisoft
Sony
Bethesda
Microsoft
EA

Reminder Microsoft said exclusive 22 times but in reality had to hang their hat on Crackdown. It was also 2 hours long.

I mean Sony put on a light show before all the big games, they literally made it snow in the hall for Horizon.

EDIT: Wait they hung fucking bodies from the ceiling - that was weird.

Their E3 podcasts have been really great so far, I recommend them even if you've been turned off by their content in the past.

Hmm, I might turn in for their E3 covergae.

The thing is, I really love listening to Austin and Patrick discussing back and fourth, But i really don't like Danika and the other dude dude who comes in sometimes. They can act very unprofessional and just plain creepy sometimes. I like Danielle when she is not engaging with Danika...

Anyone think Sony read Patrick's article and pulled all their planned announcements of games that wouldn't come out by the end of 2018?

I don't think Patrick's article had an impact since that was within a week of the show. However, I wouldn't be surprised if Sony is trying to "reset" their conferences so they're more about games within a 1.5 year window. In order to do that, the first show thereafter will be a disappointment because they already blew all the surprises in previous years.

That's a potential explanation for an average conference; it also just could have been an average conference.

I wonder if Playstation is focusing on PSX than E3 as time goes on.

This could also be a legit theory.
