Yeah, we weren't heavy drinkers at that point so it was kind of a shock. The host served it with the proper preparation, so it was a nice show for those of us who have not tried it.

It was definitely an easier drink than Bacardi 151 or Everclear.

I don't think I hallucinated but I remember not being able to stand and we all were clumped together on a couch. Not sure why the couch felt super deep and I couldn't feel my face.

Yeah I've done that with wormwood based tequilla more recently and managed to keep it down. I wouldn't seriously recommend absinthe to anyone.

Except for GB West who have a bottle of it within striking distance...
