Exquisite Corps is Masterpiece Theater & Dan is a true showman. As someone who doesn't know a lot about the XCOM games besides their reputation for brutal stakes, I was eagerly anticipating watching Dan crash & burn. If this series is over in 2 more episodes or so, I hope they just restart & give it at least one more "run".
This is good. I haven't really watched any pre-Giant Bomb stuff. Also lol at one of the YT comments saying Jeff was fired the day after this posted and them playing Kane and Lynch with Eidos people in the video.
Finished Tacoma yesterday and it was fine. I think I like Gone Home more due to how much warmer and personal the overall experience is, not to mention it toys with your expectations and subverts them in a way that you don't fully see coming. In Tacoma though, it tells a clean cut sci-fi story that I felt was kind of predictable but the strongest parts of it are the crew and the execution of how you somewhat get to know this crew.
Part of the reason why Tacoma feels colder is that you're essentially an outsider and a "fly on the wall" of sorts as you get to listen into conversations but it's not only just that, the execution with the AR aspect of the game is very well done as you get to see their actions unfold infront of you. You rewind, fast forward, pause and get to explore hidden information attached within the AR data you're uncovering about the crew at certain points in time while exploring the station. Much like Gone Home it's a short game so, it felt like a nice breeze and I can't really say anything more about it other than it tells a generally good sci-fi story and it has beautiful, strong A E S T H E T I C S.
Don't get this on Xbox One though like I did. The Performance was all over the place and the game crashed on me like 4-5 times during my total playtime with it.
I ended up going with the MSI 1080 ti Duke. There isn't a lot of impressions of it on the youtubes, which makes me nervous. But everyone seems to the like it.
Edit: Should I get an SNES classic to scalp and help fund this card? Lmao.
Dan didn't try very hard to get Vinny a SNES classic. He looked for a quantity option and then gave up instead of doing the order process a second time.

Also after watching some of the latest Murder Island I think Alex consistently cowering in a corner while everyone dies is some worse bullshit than the stuff Dan pulls.
edit: oh wait never mind I watched some more, Dan is still worse.

I normally find Dan's troll antics funny, but his first run at Exquisite Corps was frustrating and simply not fun.
I feel that the promise of EC is to watch the guys working towards the same goal, despite stumbling all over each others toes. This was Dan actively working against the interests of the group just to keep his digital mini-me alive, which is compounded by the very real possibility that the run will quickly turn into a death spiral due to poor play early in the game.
