I was thinking about this last night after watching the Left 4 Dead 2 review by Brad....are video reviews ever coming back?

Hopefully not. It just seems like an unreasonable amount of effort for what is essentially the least interesting thing about Giant Bomb. They'll probably do a video review for the next CoD, though.

IT takes a really really really long time to make a GOOD video review and look for content record it etc.
They can only do it with big games (that are worth their time) and also if they have the game in long enough before release.
If they had a dedicated video review editor sure it would be possible but they have 2 producers for the ENTIRE WEBSITE so its just not possible.
this year: I guess borderlands 2 and call of duty.

While I feel the same way they've said those videos generate a ton of traffic in a very short period of time when posted the week of release.

I guess that is fair enough. I will never really be interested in GB's video reviews but if they help the site grow then I am not opposed to their existence.
 
So I finally subscribed and am watching the Phantasmagoria video atm. Anything else in the archives that is even close to this level?
 
So looks like the next live show in September will be called "The we just tought to do this Live Show"??? ugh...

Loosing Screened and especially Tested but keeping Comic Vine will make a terrible live show. I guess we'll see what Gamespot can bring but I already don't care about anybody on that site and never visit it (except for occasional old game reviews). Meh...

Tested segments were the best. I hope they show up even if for a guest appearance.

Umm, no. That's the image they put on the homepage of the site when they randomly do a livestream of a game.
 
If they do do a Big Live Live show 3 this year I bet they do a giant CBSi show instead of just GB and comic vine and tested as guests.


Giantbomb, gamespot, CNet, TV.com etc... It should be a ok show if they keep the same hectic live style.

Well the live show is already confirmed. Jeff tweeted a picture of Vinny in the first meeting for the show and I think he also confirmed that John Drake was booked or something like that?

Anyway the show will happen I just don't know how good it will actually be.

Also remember that the whole point of the show was being a big informecial for the Whiskey sub. I imagine the Gamespot guys will show up but why would they spend their day advertise GB/ComicVine subs. Unless they decide to permenantly merge the GS and GB subs (afaik the code we got was a "one time" thing). It should also be around the relaunch of the website so who knows.
 
I seriously doubt comic vine will get any exposure during the next big live show, itll be entirely gb focused with some appearancea by gamespot dudes and a tested guest appearance is guaranteed unless norm and will are busy with something else.

I think they're doing it because so many people have been asking them to do it/will they do it. It's like expected.

I expect Comic Vine will show up a little... maybe. They do seem awfully camera shy in the GB office stuff, especially considering they sit right next to Brad.

But, yeah, I fully expect Will and Norm to show up. They'll probably not get the same number of segments, and they may not be billed as being from Tested, but I'll be shocked if they don't pop up.
 
Watching the archived video of yesterday's Flight Club, I think it may be the best one yet. I'm also so tempted to get this game. The one thing we can learn from all of these videos is never, ever do anything Vinny says.

Yeah I'm sure that some people are asking for it (I'm not sure exactly why personaly but whatever, to each his own).

And yeah Will and Norm, if they are there, will probably be there only as guests for a segment.

Anyway, we'll see in a couple of months.
 
Never saw the Big Live Live Show, but was it anything like Happy Hour? I always found the Happy Hour stuff incredibly boring to watch, I feel like GB live content thrives best on as little preparation as possible and awesome guests.

It was a lot like an extended Happy Hour with multiple segments for each site, plus a lot of guests.

The best thing about both years of the BLLS is Jean Baudin's awesome music.

It was more fun live than archived, if only to join in on the trainwrecks.
