They need to revisit the 3do. One of the funniest TNTs ever.

"No, I don't know what you mean. Your swagger is killing me, man!"

Awww.

From the GB frontpage:

"Hey, thanks Amazon! We might have had to actually wait for Sony to announce this thing if you hadn't leaked this stuff!"

This right there is the epitome of an Alex Navarro headline.

Is it just me, or does Alex's headlines and stuff drip with self-loathing? I almost feel like he really doesn't want to be a reporter in the video game industry.

Had a feeling this was an Alex story. Read it in his voice lol

He's doing it just to spite you guys.

Possibly. I think the problem is that his irony (which I'm sure is what he intends it to be) often can be read as condescension. And the last thing I want to read are news articles that have a tone that you shouldn't care about this stuff, and if you do you're a loser. I just feel like, if that's the case why even waste the space of a news story?

If he really doesn't care about this stuff, he shouldn't post it. After all, GB is known for not covering games they don't care about. It's reasonable to extend that viewpoint to news coverage.

Wth are they doing? 2 quicklooks so far this week despite them having an enormous backlog, next to no subscriber content.. Its been months now since the gamespot deal and it feels like the site is basically dead.

No equipment
No video guys (Vinny came back this week)
No place to do stuff (why do you think they were destroying walls on that video)
New house, new rules.

Give them a while to readjust.

New week, new excuses.
Out of curiosity, given the circumstances, what more could they have done?

Everyone demands Giant Bomb stays as a small, personality driven website, but expects them to operate with the redundancy of a large gaming site.

Anyone who has worked for a small company (<10 employees) will tell you that it only takes a couple minor, but poorly timed, coincidences for business to grind to a halt (let alone something huge like a buyout and relocation).

Ultimately, if their audience wants the site to stay small and fluid (and judging by the reaction to Patrick's hiring, they do), they're going to have to accept that GB's content will forever be subject to peaks and valleys.

Does anyone remember the name of that Chrome app that Jeff played at PAX? I had it installed to check out but accidentally got rid of it while doing a cleanup.

As I've already said, I honestly don't expect regular content until July.

Remember that E3 is only a few weeks away and prep and recovery of that will take a while.

Any idea why the subscriber event that happened last Friday (I think)--where they discussed what was going to be in the new website design--isn't uploaded yet? Or can I just not see it because I'm blind?

Yeah. Especially since the past month has had them moving out of an office, making the deal with CBS, splitting the equipment, moving to a new office, video crew went on vacation, they went to PAX East, and now they're knocking down walls and still trying to get their own video equipment setup since the whole crew is back together.

I'd love more content, and at times they do seem to slow down for little reason, but the past month or so has been justified.

People need to stop saying "They're knocking down walls"... A construction crew is doing some renovations one floor up and, when asked by the GB guys, aggreed to let them have some fun with the sledgehammer on that wall. It's not like they are spending their whole day doing construction work...

I'd wish they'd be more upfront about it though.
That's what I love mondays is here for. Especially considering this week they're 4 full time editors, 1 video guy and at least two engineers, and all they're able to produce is two QLs? Makes you wonder exactly how they fill up their days.

It's creepy you know the details of this situation regarding the sledgehammer and the pink hard-hat.

They knocked down their cubicle walls a couple of weeks ago. I didn't watch this video of dudes hitting walls. I assumed it was an extension of that work they were doing. I like the fact they're just randomly hitting walls with a construction crew even better.

Yeah I'm still waiting for that too.

I understand it's busy and everything and I'm more forgiving of GB than most other sites, but it is getting a bit bare now. What makes it worse is the fact they were pumping out SO much content before the move/baby etc. We've gone from as much content as you could want to barely anything.

Time to step it up, however much they can. It's been too long and no excuses really cut it for me beyond this point.

I'm sure CBSI's health insurance carrier appreciated them swinging around sledge hammers at the work place.

Especially the guy swinging the thing with two hands near the bottom of the handle like it was a baseball bat. I'm surprised it didn't fly out of his hands.

The Giantbomb crew needs an office. They have their cubicles and all their quicklook stuff is beind done in a small room, where the mixer, the mics, and computer sand everything is cobbled together.

"They're knocking down walls" is just a way of saying that the locale where they will do their quicklooks and shit is still being built. The setup they have now is temporary.

They don't even have a computer yet: The one they're using is borrowed from some dudes in the company.

Just give it time, duders.

Huh...I never said otherwise? I know they don't have the permanent offices yet, all I'm saying is that some people seems to think that it's the GB guys who are actually taking 40h a week to build the new space...

So no beefcake shots of sweaty Patrick in a filthy white tank top and hard hat, brandishing a sledgehammer?
