Hey, we're just now getting ready to start talking about what sort of guests we should be going after this year. Anyone specific you'd like to see (or see again)?

If it isn't already planned, it would be fun to have some of the 8-4 crew (particularly Mark MacDonald) join you for a podcast. With the Wii U getting a second unveiling and the Vita (hopefully) having a second wave of games announced and detailed, they would be able to bring a useful perspective to conversations about them.

Last year's talk with David Jaffe was excellent; if you could find any other developers that feel comfortable speaking honestly about their own work and the industry in general, they would make great guests.

Beyond that, you have a large roster of fan favorites like Jeff Green and John Vignocchi that would be fun to hear from again.

Jaffe was far and away the best guest on GiantBomb e3 podcast. Genova Chen or w/e and the Microsoft guys were easily the worst (at least that in turn made Blow interesting, but goddamn what shit that was lol).

I will echo this and especially that.
Jeff = MonsterDunk
Brad = rudds
Vinny = bionicpuppy
Ryan = *blocked*
Patrick Klepek = Patrick Klepek

Make sure to get Tim Schafer, Brad Muir, John Drake, and Eric Pope.

And Justin McElroy. I need to hear more about Bonkerz.net.

Jaffe and Blow were great last year. Brad Muir is always fun, as is Jeff Green and the Idle Thumbs guys. Please try to steer clear of those MS guys or anyone similar :P

The usual suspects; Adam B., Johnny V., Brad Muir, Paul Barnett... McElroy would be a nice addition as well.

Edit: I forgot to mention that I enjoy hearing from past GameSpot crew, give me some Greg Kasavin, Rich Gallup, Carrie G., I'll even take some Bob Colayco.

I'd love to see Jenova Chen back, especially after the success of Journey.

So we can be given the opportunity to hear how much he doesn't really like videogames except for the few novelty experiences he had when he was younger. Really fits in well with a room of men who play games for a living. They can all nod their heads quietly again, unconsciously letting the air of pretension force them to give a crap. I don't know if I would call it an exciting segment, but it sure was a change of pace last time!

I would love to hear from more developers this time around. Over the past years, they were the best guests.
Although having an 8-4play X Idlethumbs X bombcast would ve super interesting.

Of the people we've seen before, I most love the thumbs.

Jenova Chen and supergiant and other indie devs are cool. And maybe a mad japanese auteur or two.

I would like to echo the top of the page by suggesting Jeff Green and Shawn Elliott. Never heard Shawn and any of the bombcast crew together (actually maybe with Spatrick back at 1up)

Justin McElroy should return to the E3 podcast! He's one of my favorite non-GB media people.

Yes! J-Mac makes me laugh without even trying. Something about the way he talks is infectious as shit.

Mark McDonald should be in town for E3, right? Get him on and/or whoever else is there from 8-4. :)

Also Jeff Green, Phil Kollar, Justin McElroy, Brad Muir Chris Remo and Paul Barnett.

Any of Tested.
Jeff Green
That English dude that's always at E3. Paul Barnett?
Michael Pachter would be great during or post-E3
Johnny V

You guys have pretty much covered all the bases.

I just hope each night has a good mix of industry representatives (editorial/developer/publisher) and veterans vs. fresh faces. Because, for me anyway, the best part of the E3 podcasts are the debates/'heated' conversations. Keep the fan-favorite circlejerks for stuff like PAX.

I know many people didn't like the Microsoft 'shills', but they gave Blow a reason to vent over XBLA's cert requirements (and if anyone else was simultaneously watching Adam Boyes' livestream - you'll remember his great candid reaction to what he considered Blow's hypocrisy).

David Jaffe completely calling out 'Cowboy' was another highlight. I totally felt his frustration at developers who pretend their studio is some sort of tranquil retreat. Who do they think they're kidding?

Also, damn shame Leigh Alexander received so much vitriolic and sustained abuse after her appearance. Reminding people what a train wreck they were just causes future guests to remain formal so it can't happen to them.

What did he say?
It was quite a while ago, so can't remember specifics, but Adam basically called Blow a hypocrite for bitching about XBLA's TCRs, because Adam felt it was only because of Microsoft's curation of XBLA that allowed Blow to buy his fancy car (can't remember what make it was, but I think it was a BMW or Lexus).
