Oh man, I fucking hate it when people talk on podcasts. Who does this asshole think he is, voicing opinions and participating in conversations in the Giant Bombcast? You're supposed to sit there in silence, only occasionally, but not too frequently, engaging in nonverbal communication.

Lol at the defense force. Yeah thats exactly it I want to him to sit there and not say anything. Man what a touchy subject.

Yeah talk about your game and everything but please let other people talk once in a while, he kept interrupting jeff when he tried to talk about the game as well and basically had a discussion by himself.

Sorry about making a suggestion about improving the quality of a podcast.

If they fired Patrick and hired Kessler I would totally be ok with that.

Kessler at least made decent video content while talk over people.

Patrick just writes the news and outside of the 3 or so Activision leaks he just copies and pastes as much stuff as every other gaming journalist out there.

When Giant Bomb is absorbed into gamespot this fall I hope Dave and Vinny start their own PC site focused of Eastern European game studios.

Ok its been a year since my last podcast listen and my god I cannot stand this fucking Patrick person.

Holy fuck man. SHUT THE FUCK UP AND LET OTHER PEOPLE SPEAK. YOU ARE A BORING FUCK.
3 people played diablo 3 and discussed it in less time than this motherfucker alone talking to himself about dragons dogma. I am writing this and he still wont shut the fuck up. Oh wait there is someones voice on the game........oh wait he cut him off and began talking about this shit.

Patrick.

Sorry about the rant.
Wow, how can you be so fucking hateful towards someone on a podcast? Just don't listen to it if he upsets you so much. You're not "making a suggestion to improve a podcast", you are rambling about an internet personality you don't like.

I don't mind Patrick.

The problem is nobody wants to let him finish before butting in. I bet it's just as annoying to him as it is to some of you.

Well, to be fair, left unchecked that dude will go on and on and on. He needs to be reigned in at times, and I think when the guys interrupt it's them trying to have some editorial control and get him to stop talking for a bit. IMO.

I think it's hilarious you listen to an episode out of the blue and act like you understand every bit of context within the conversation.

He was the only one who played the game, one that they were interested in hearing about. They asked him to talk about it, they were interested. I can understand you not being interested, but while I think Patrick can be much at times, he was absolutely fine discussing the game.

Lighten the fuck up.

I... really like Tricky.

crazy, I know

i wasn't a fan of him on the podcast for a while (i even posted a few Patrick = no listen a few times) but i think that changed when he started to talk about his experience at California extreme and how he was jelling with the rest of the guys.

He still does that overtalking from time to time but hey, plus he's doing a great service for the GB News section imo.

In the latest "worth reading" Patrick mentions he'll be playing Amnesia this weekend so I hope he talks about on next weeks podcast.

I'm really liking the fact too that Patrick sometimes revisits older games and talks about them on the podcast, like Vinny often does. It gives the bombcast a certain idle thumbs feel to it and I love it.

This reminds me of a podcast I listened to recently around the time Patrick was acquired where Patrick states how it pisses him off (or something of the like) that there are no good, scary horror games out there.

The rest of the crew then list a couple known very scary games and he says he hasn't gotten around to playing them, one of them being Amnesia. Good moment.

In regards to bitching about Patrick, whenever I listen to the Bombcast, to me anyway, it sounds like how most normal conversations flow. People interrupt each other, get over it.

Yeah, he also adds a whole lot to the podcast by having better knowledge of current industry events than the other dudes.

I think I remember that episode. If I remember it's the same episode with the ghost rape discussion so it was particularly memorable.

A conversation implies more than one person is talking. It's all well and good if he has a thought out and articulate opinion of a game, but it's pretty annoying when nobody is allowed to get a word in edgeways for 10-20 minutes. When they do, their point is regurgitated at twice the length before he moves on to another drawn out point. I don't think I hate Patrick, when he isn't given the platform he helps drive discussion into interesting places when its called for. It's hard to get angry when you can safely skip through most of it anyway.

On a semi-related note I started a drinking game a couple of weeks ago surrounding the amount of times Patrick uses the word "theme/s" and Brad uses "scuttlebutt" in the podcast. You're guaranteed a good buzz at the very least.

I very distinctly remember Ryan and Jeff butting into Patrick's Dogma discussion mid sentence a couple of times to do a stupid joke that they kept dragging on.

To hear people complain about it the other way is funny.

Yeah your suggestions are very constructive. Choice quotes:
"YOU ARE A BORING FUCK"
"this motherfucker"
"still wont shut the fuck up"

If you have nothing of value to say, just get the fuck out please.

Patrick is fine as long as he isn't doing that annoying whisper thing that he stole from the kid in that shitty sitcom.
I don't know if you've noticed, but the whole cast does this frequently, especially Ryan and Vinny. It's probably just something he got in the habit of doing since everyone around him does it. I don't see a problem with it.

I started a drinking game every time someone acts crazy in this thread.

Alcohol poisoning in 40 seconds.

Anyone think the guys are coming across jaded a bit in the last lot of quick looks.
That's what happens if you have to sit down and play shitty and/or derivative games (MIB, Ghost Recon, Sorcery, Joyride).

I think the funny thing about Giant Bomb is how I like them because of how chill they seem to be about video games, but how that seems to draw some of the most heated comments.

The last three are pretty decent games though, they just seem a bit dismissive of games of late in the quick looks.

I dislike the way Patrick approaches quick looks, he very dismissive on the onset, before 'I know' anything about the game an he has already formed an opinion before seeing it.

I mean they are 'personalities', it is totally reasonable to dislike one of them as long as your not actively insulting them.

I have noticed that Patrick tends to start off QL's more cynical than the other guys, and a lot of the time it sounds forced, like because he's "the kid" he has to compensate by occasionally being a hardass. Like he's almost trying too hard to emulate Jeff or Ryan. His complaints don't always come off that way obviously, like this week's Dragon's Dogma discussion.

It's annoying when he does it, but I actually don't mind him though, he's grown on me.

The only thing I don't like them doing is being very passive in the quicklook and not really interested - like when Jeff does his "yuuup" thing. Like in the recent Joyride quicklook. They should not bother doing a QL if they have absolutely no interest in playing it.

Yeah thats what i was getting at with my jaded post, i understand it is a job and i would find it hard to drum up the will to play games i didnt want but it has come across more so of late they normally mask their bordem of playing those games better.
