Giant Bomb Thread 2: A thread on a popular internet message board

The only thing I don't like them doing is being very passive in the quicklook and not really interested - like when Jeff does his "yuuup" thing. Like in the recent Joyride quicklook. They should not bother doing a QL if they have absolutely no interest in playing it.
Ryan yawning during Monster World IV annoyed me considering that Jeff didn't seem to be that bored by it.

If they fired Patrick and hired Kessler I would totally be ok with that.

Kessler at least made decent video content while talk over people.

Patrick just writes the news and outside of the 3 or so Activision leaks he just copies and pastes as much stuff as every other gaming journalist out there.

Except he's written numerous original pieces for the site and does so on a regular basis.

I don't mind Patrick.

The problem is nobody wants to let him finish before butting in. I bet it's just as annoying to him as it is to some of you.

Are you serrrrioussssssss?

Someone needs to transcribe Patrick's Dragon's Dogma monologue. There is no punctuation. He has no fucking idea what he's saying and halfway through completing a thought he moves right onto another topic in the same breath, without any pause. No wonder he's being "interrupted"; there's no way not to "interrupt" if anyone else has an opinion on what he's saying considering he will move from topic to topic in his own conversation with himself.

If I was more of a loser (complaining about video game podcasts on a message board only makes you a semi-loser) I'd transcribe that shit myself. I re-listened to it this morning and I just sat in bewilderment at how long he was able to have a conversation with himself.

Never really complain about podcasts or anything but this was impressive and had to comment on it.

On a semi-related note I started a drinking game a couple of weeks ago surrounding the amount of times Patrick uses the word "theme/s" and Brad uses "scuttlebutt" in the podcast. You're guaranteed a good buzz at the very least.

If you really want to get trashed, go with Patrick's big exhale laugh, Ryan saying "story beats", and Brad saying "I don't know" like a surfer (sound like "all now"). Some kind of bigger drink when Ryan calls someone a piece of shit, or Vinny says "that's terrible!", or Jeff comes with an obscure pull out of nowhere. :p

But I really like the mix they have. I'm in the process of going through all the bombcasts since the beginning (it has taken quite awhile as I mostly listen at work), but the only time it felt slightly off to me was the first few weeks that Patrick was officially part of the group. The guys' tastes, as well as their passions or disinterests, seem to cover quite a good range and it makes for a good listen every week.

I like Patrick a lot. But this one still bothers me greatly, I can't help it.

It's gonna be really weird in a week not seeing "E3 2012: Day 1 Live Bombcast" in the coming soon section of the front page anymore.

After relistening to Jeff's Miami story, I've decided my favorite podcast grouping is Jeff, Vinny, and Dave. It's so much more chill than the usual podcast.

I'm always disappointed when someone is absent and they don't have Dave fill in. That new year's episode where they talk about bug-out bags and stuff was hilarious.

We can keep it forever.

Oh, excuse my stupidity. It sounded like he meant that they wouldn't be doing the sarcastic, alcohol filled Giantbomb E3 roundup shows this year. I got a little scared, my favorite part of E3 is the Live GB shows.

What I'm secretly hoping for as the replacement on the coming up menu is an end of the world party. Because that's a thing that's totally happening this year. Theme it by playing stuff like Fallout, or by playing the personal favourites of each staff remember because that's how they want to go out or something. That could also be used to test out the Jeff Gerstmann Hall of Fame feature for next year.

Just saying.
