Yeah, the panel has been really nice so far. It has a bit of the same hamminess of the other live panels, but this has probably been the best panel they've recorded.

Oh lord, what the hell was the guy trying to say/ask at like 57 minutes into the panel? The Q&A half was the better half of the panel in my opinion, I especially liked Patrick's response to the question about how the guys deal with having so much of their lives displayed for the whole world to see.

If they stuck it on Android, maybe I could!

The panel had some highlights, but it felt like probably the worst yet. It wasn't terrible, it just felt like apart from Jeff's antics there wasn't much to it.

Guy wearing a My Little Pony shirt and guy stammering through some bullshit non-question about Final Fantasy. Yeeeeup.
Yeah... that was pretty painful to watch. I also don't get asking questions that have nothing to do with them, like questioning them about BioShock Infinite.

Pretty sure he mentioned that in a recent podcast, might have been a Jar thing, though. My God the guy with the condescending nerd voice and ramblings about Final Fantasy 14 was insufferable, glad they tore through him.

To be fair if the bouncers let in someone with a MLP shirt then that's on them. Should be turned away at the door.

Downloading the panel now. Can't wait to watch it!

Panel was hilarious. Jeff proves yet again that he is one of the most naturally entertaining people in this industry.
Agreed.

Same with Ryan. I know some people on GAF don't like him, but I think he's really good as a host. Always funny and always seems at ease despite being in front of a camera/mic/crowd all the time.

What was he talking about?

Anyway, I would love to just have a highlights clip.

If I convert the panel to an audio file and listen to it on my flight today, am I going to be missing too much by not watching?

I'm watching Jeff's second chill sesh, and I'm continuing to be struck with the same question I always have retaining to Bubsy.

How did Bubsy get to be so popular? Before the internet, I knew about Bubsy despite not having any of the games. I didn't know if the games were good, I just knew he was on the cover of EGM and shit all the time. Is it because Bubsy was so bad? I doubt it because there are still worse, borderline unplayable games that you could make a case for instead. It is just the most baffling thing.

Man, what's going on?! My brother and I fucking loved Bubsy when we were young. I was devastated when Jeff ripped on it in his labour day sesh. I thought it was really well regarded for some reason too, some of the quotes about it from Wikipedia definitely set me straight though.

Wikipedia says there was a heap of hype for it before release because it was marketed as a Sonic/Mario killer. I can only speak for myself about its popularly, but the reason I bought it was because they used to play it on a really awesome kids gameshow in Australia called 'Amazing'. It was used interchangeably with games like Mario Kart and SMB which I both loved so I went out and bought Bubsy as well.

I was on my way walking to PAX on Saturday, getting excited for the Kojima panel, when Kleppick walks out in front of me.

I unintentionally stalked <half a block> behind him all the way to the convention, but didn't want to bother him and be 'that annoying guy' before the shitstorm that is a convention.

Say hi next time, that's why we're there! Just be forewarned:
I might put a plastic bag over your head and kill you.

Busby was a board room designed character in a shitty game that was marketed out the ass. In the world of character platformers, Mario is Mario. Sonic was made as a statement of Sega's anti Nintendo intentions. Bubsy was just made to rip off children, and those children still choose to believe the game is good.

I think it did do a good job with cartoonish animations for the character though.

Wasn't it also marketed on the size of the cartridge? I'm sure that's the only reason I know of the game.

Where in the panel does 40 cents happen? I know the plastic bag chokeout happens at 25:15 or so, but I can't remember where the 40 cents bit starts.
