How often do they openly bitch about GAF? Alex has talked shit about GAF, but then Bomb threads have been absolutely shitty towards him. It's only kinda recently that threads don't turn into total shitfests as soon as Alex is mentioned, and that's probably just temporary. Also, spoiler alert

I probably visit the Giant Bomb forums once or twice a year, but even that's enough to know DuckButter is just one of their 'personality' trolls. Not even a very good one at that.
Aside from a handful of people who create some great stuff, the forums are a cesspit. And judging by how the mods act in the chat during live events, don't expect it to be cleaned up any time soon.

I got to say, what the fuck is going on with their video player. Watching any premium content that isn't up on Youtube is a fucking chore with the Gamespot player.
First streaming mode just seizes up during playback with Firefox, okay, i'll refresh. Nope, you can't skip ahead so you have to watch those 14 minutes all over again, it restarts every time, even in progressive. Let's try Chrome with HTML5, that'll surely work, right? Nope, it just freezes on me with the audio continuing, causing the entire browser to grind to a halt. Let's try Chrome on streaming/progressive. Can I skip ahead? No. Restarts every time.

Do you have access to an iOS or Android phone/tablet? The fan-made apps stream flawlessly for me (unless I'm having issues with their Amazon datacenter). Or XBMC/Boxee box?

You on Windows? Try going to chrome://flags/ and look for "Disable hardware-accelerated video decode". The HTML 5 videos did not work at all for me until I enabled that.

In the GotY discussions, Patrick said that the PS3 version of The Walking Dead didn't suffer from any technical issues. Did he pull that out of his arse, or has my game not installed properly?

It performs better than the 360 version but it's by no means perfect. Suffers from framerate issues and went a few episodes before they patched the save bug.
I played the PS3 disc version. It ran mostly terrible in the first half. Episodes 4 and 5 ran a bit better but it's a mess technically.

Really enjoying this fast and loose/ridiculous business Giant Bomb have been getting up to over the past week. I wonder if this is the sort of thing we could be getting if everyone wasn't hung up in meetings and such.
I seriously don't get this. It seems like something people just say at this point because it's something someone else said, particularly here at GAF (even if this place is better). Can we stop painting Giant Bomb's community with one big brush? It seems to me that it's one of the better communities on the Internet, ferchrissakes. I wouldn't let a handful of bad apples ruin the whole bunch.
Then again I have a good 1,000 or so posts over there so I'm probably in too deep and am a filthy unwashed Giant Bomb pleb. :/
In my experience they're largely a friendly, extremely creative and amusing group.
People do the same sort of shit to NeoGAF and it's also largely ridiculous. Let's stop hating each other and just loosen the fuck up.

The Giant Bomb community's always seemed fine to me. You get the odd person who's a bit odd but by and large it's fine. Like any online community, really. Only went over there briefly, back when all the kids were playing that SSX (AS YOU ALL STILL SHOULD), but the forum section just seemed like GAF but less active.
Is there anyway to get HD content through the Giantbomb XBMC app? I'm premium but I don't see an option for it.
Edit: Ohmp. It's not in settings, you have to link from in the XBMC app. Figured it out.
You could argue that everyone in this thread is part of the Giantbomb community, just hosted elsewhere.
