Their reactions on the podcast to DmC were totally understandable given their perspective.

What's a tiny bit irritating is how they failed to try and empathize with or even acknowledge the existence of the hardcore fanbase and their equally valid complaints.

Since I don't belong to that group though it was a feeling that quickly passed.

Hah, the stream is such a perfect example of a company 'mixer' - instead of getting to know people you just all hang out in your own groups.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing. Apparently they don't know that when CBSi said "teambuilding" they didn't mean with the people you already know and love like brothers.

Can't blame 'em, it's what happens at literally every bullshit corporate team building event. The last one I went on was an ATV cross country thing. Our 'group' just slowly filtered to the back and split the moment we were far enough away for nobody to notice.

Isn't bowling like a part of gym classes in the midwest? Would explain patrick's skills.

I'm from the northern suburbs of Chicago and we definitely had bowling in gym class Junior High. I'm not sure how common that is though. A few high schools actually had bowling teams, if I'm not mistaken.

We had bowling and pool tables as special Phys Ed in my high school, everyone went of course because soccer/badminton/lacrosse/rugby/Australian Rules can get boring and we took trips 10 kilometers away.

I felt so ashamed that I could only lift the lightest bowling ball that I resolved to get stronger. I am a lot stronger now, not crazy strong but probably 2.5x stronger than my scrawny self in the past.

Remember the small glowy box they had when they were talking about redundancy and archiving? You just have to drive to their office, go in that room, and watch it on that screen.

wait are you aussie?

Having played a bunch more XCOM since the GOTY podcasts, I'm surprised that they went so easy on it. Maybe they just didn't run into some of the nastier bugs ones, but tons of weird shit has been going on for me. Groups of enemies are just spawning right on top of my squad sometimes. They just appear, the "oh shit" animation plays, then they scurry to some cover point 5 feet away from me. Other stuff too, like enemy groups activating for no reason, on the completely opposite side of the map, I've had group members starting panicking for no reason, start shooting my squad, causing them to panic, etc. Some of this stuff is really unforgivable when you are playing ironman. I had a pack of 3 chryssalids spawn right on top of me during a terror mission and it cost me a couple guys. The hostage escort missions can be completely fucked. One time, the false panic bug happened, and the guy just turned and shot the hostage on turn 3, mission over. The thin men constantly dropping out of the sky right next to the hostage is extremely annoying too.

Are they spawning or patrols?

Weird that they would give goty to a game with a ton of bugs. That doesn't sound like them.

Oh you.

You think you had it bad? I had a group spawn on top of me. Actually it was two groups. Both of them were a pack of chryssalids. On the Alien Base mission. Difficulty was Classic. With Ironman mode on.

And I killed all 6 of them with no losses. *flex*

oh SHI

I really, truly wish the enemies wouldn't get a free move turn when you encounter them. Them spawning in bulk would be the greatest rocket opportunity ever.

At least it's just a move turn and not Ye Olde Ecks-Combe Style "i walked off the skyranger and all my guys got sniped by enemies i can't see"

I don't understand how that is justified in the game rules. There's even a loading screen tip that says something like "kicking down a door will alert the enemy to your presence, opening doors manually will allow you to sneak up on them." Which is a bunch of bullshit, I've never had that happen once despite always opening doors like that.

As an aside, 2 snipers can carry a team like crazy in this game. Snipers are the only class I've ever managed to get to Colonel, and double tap is borderline overpowered. The sniper that reached Colonel must have averaged 5-6 kills a mission.

So, I played Xcom on baby mode and had saves. And, being a game baby, I tended to reload whenever a mission ended in a wipe (or close enough to one). I found that reloading a save resulted in a 5% chance that enemies would just spawn on top of you. Which usually worked in my favour, oddly, especially when it happened to boss-style bad guys. Just, right in the middle of my crew, doesn't even give them a walk phase, then everyone gets a >70% chance to kill those motherfuckers.

('sides, there are better bones to pick with their goty list than xcom.)
(also please don't start all arguin' 'bout their goty list)
(although anything's better than the dmc thingy)
(hotline miami c'mon C'MON)

Seems like an easy way to farm corpses for the grey market. It's probably patched by now.

Pretty sure there won't be an archive of bowling night, unless you just go to ustream, where it's already up.

If you're talking about the behind the scenes Vinny thing, I'm guessing it will be archived. They're probably just getting to the office today, and didn't do it last night as they were at bowling. Maybe by this afternoon?
