Garshasp isn't nearly as bad as some people imply it is, but neither is it close to as good as some people pretend to pretend that it is.

I'm not going to lie, I had Ryan's "GARSHASP!!!" as my text message ring tone for about a week.

Best titlecard.

Anybody is able to see the /giantbomb channel on Twitch using an iphone? I can see it just fine and even follow it on windows. But, for some reasons, it's compeltly invisible on the phone. Even my "Following" list is empty...

I'm pretty sure that channels only show up on the Twitch app when they go live (unless they have changed it recently.)

I love Giant Bomb, and obviously think premium is plenty of value because I've been subscribed for some time, but why do they seem so averse to making premium content?

I mean all it takes is them to sit down and play a game while recording it, I know there's recording equipment and stuff but there are tons and tons of LPers on YouTube who make videos every single day with only short breaks in between series.

I'm not upset or anything, because really I barely have time to watch what there is, but I just don't understand what they're always busy with?

Yup, a breakdown of what they do as a reason for a lack of premium content would be really interesting. In my eyes, there's no real reason to not get at least one bit of premium content per day. 6-8 hours per week (excluding TNT which doesn't count as premium) would be the sweet spot.

QLs, Bombcast and reviews are really all the other stuff they do. Sometimes articles/news stories. Doesn't add up to me.

We talked about this a fair bit near the end of the last thread and some people thought it might be because Vinny does CV videos too, but I dunno if that's true. Even then I argued I'm sure they could set up a way to record themselves easily as (like you said) people on YT do it with much less sophisticated equipment when it isn't even their job.

I always feel like an ass posting something that looks like GB = lazy when I know they read but hey, it's how I feel sometimes. A bit of info one way or another wouldn't go amiss.

Monday - Random PC Game
Tuesday - Jurassic Park whatever
Wednesday - Load Your Last Save
Thursday - Something pre-TNT, retro games or something
Friday - Breaking Brad / Radio Show / Flight School could rotate since there's maybe less content to do them weekly.
+ Jar Time whenever Jeff has something to say.

A schedule like that would be Godly. It would only take two people to do each of them as well, maybe three if you need a video guy there. That still leaves a lot of staffers for other stuff.

Which is awesome because all the streams can be followed on the free Twitch.tv app on iPad.

It's not completely awesome though because they seem to have fucked up some of the archives in the process. Like the TNT where they played Civ V and the Ticket To Ride board game is unwatchable right now. It just redirects between justin and twitch endlessly. Hopefully that will be fixed at some point.

I'm watching the X-Com video... The actual gameplay has obviously nothing to do with it but watching that menu screen of the undeground base running on Unreal Engine 3 makes me want a Shadow Complex sequel even more! Arghhhhh curse you Chair/Epic with your stupid iOS games.

So the 'Coming Up Next' pane has been pulled and there's no new content. Bummer, was looking forward to the Quick Looks today.

Has anyone ever done an analysis to see exactly what the release schedule of videos has been like over the life of the site? I'd be damned curious to see what that looked like (especially if it disregarded the PR videos).

And here I was on a perfect 6-month streak forgetting she existed. Thanks a lot.

Leigh Alexander writes great articles as well as an interesting monthly column (Edge). I do not think that dismissing her because of a single drunken appearance on an after-show special episode podcast two years ago is fair to her.

People in the GiantBomb community really love to harp on her without knowing any of her other material.

I've heard her on multiple podcasts, have read a number of her columns as an Edge subscriber, and have read some of her articles online as well. She is abysmal.

Edit - her writing isn't terrible, though I've certainly disagreed with her in the past. But how she has presented herself as a person on podcasts and on twitter is extremely unappealing. Even if I thought she was a great writer I would be hugely turned off.

It's like when I found out Jack Kerouac was actually a big drunk jerk.

Do it once, shame on me. Do it twice, shame on you.

Pretty much this. I'm a bit familiar with her work and find it fairly middling, which is whatever, but it's the persona that's sealed the deal in making me uninterested in further following her work.

Same reason I typically avoid Alex's content on the site.
