I played the shit out of sim golf back when it came out. I'd love to play a new game that took the idea to the next level (full on 3d with terrain for starters!)

Haha, pretty much sums up the glory of Fallblox being announced

OK, amigos y amigas. If we were to put together a long TG16-focused livestream, which games should I definitely have? Any region is fine.

There are two vital questions that Jeff isn't answering here, which are A) How does he feel about shmups, and B) Does he have a TG-CD?

(because that makes the difference whether he'll bother to play half the TG-16's good library and Dracula X)

At least one of the Star Soldier games or Gunhed/Blazing Lazers, Lords of Thunder, Military Madness/Nectaris (just for history's sake), Splatterhouse, and if possible, Dracula X: Rondo of Blood.

Oh, and show off SFII' (with the weird color palette) and Fighting Street, just for laughs.

edit: actually if going for laughs is an option then China Warrior all the way

I'm not terribly familiar with the Turbo Graphics at all, but I would love to see an all day segment dedicated to it like their SNES marathon. So much fun.

Just FYI, last time they streamed SNES games, they played Lester the Unlikely.

That's the tone here.

This is the most important question. There's so much good stuff for the CD and there was no region-lock. We've got some Legend of Heroes stuff, Ys III, Ys IV, Lords of Thunder, Gate of Thunder, Ginga Fukei Densetsu Sapphire, Popful Mail, Princess Maker, Snatcher, Tengai Makyou (II), etc.

Otherwise: Bonk, R-Type, Pac-Land, maybe Dungeon Explorer, Hit the Ice, etc.

Feels weird since I got a TG16 as a kid (as well as a turbo express) but my game catalog for it was so small. Bonks games (Revenge and Air Zonk were what I had) were great. I tend to have positive memories of Keith Courage. I played so much of TV Sports Basketball but hated the game so much lol. Never owned any shumps for it though :/

Rather see the Tokyo Jungle stuff only.

Which, again, shows how broken the whole TNT thing is. The "community" aspect always seemed kind of dumb to me. I want them to play games they enjoy, either by themselves or with others, and talk. And have fun. There's a reason why Fortune Street is one of their best TNTs.

I feel like GB have really milked Tokyo Jungle dry.

It's a damn good game- I welcome every appearance of it.

That said, anyone who likes the game should be OK with seeing its mechanics play out over and over and over and over, so maybe you're not a fan... or you haven't played it yet. :P

At that point, though, they may as well just call it "Live Quicklook Thursday."

Fair enough, but 1/5 then. It just seems pointless to me to have a scale out of five, where you give even games you actively hate 2/5.

You might as well do thumbs up/down at that point.

I think that Brad thinks it is 2/5 quality game, but he hates the fact that it is a 2/5 game so much that his written opinion of it gets pretty vile. His disappointment is what brings it over the emotional ledge, but that probably shouldn't be factored into the score.

At least that is how I read it.

Sure yeah, why not. I don't know why they think they need actual planned shows and events even, just get the guys into a room and let them play what they want.

I dunno, I think community involvement is high on their list of priorities and it's one reason why I like GB. When TNT works, it's awesome fun to watch, it just hasn't worked a lot lately.

How about instead of TNT, the one big release of the week, or the one game they are all interested in, gets an "in depth" quicklook. That way, something like Tokyo Jungle that they are all interested in gets a brighter light in which to shine, they can goof off, and explore. That way, it is sort of like TNT, and can be contingent on the community at times, but not beholden to it.

I'm not implying that there is anything wrong with the quality of their review work or that it isn't important. I'm just saying I can see why you wouldn't bother getting art for a section of the site that doesn't get their full attention.
No, no. I know, I just feel kind of bad for Patrick though as I feel he is a part of the team.

Oh what the hell.. I'm going through the old podcasts and I'm listening to the 5-20-2008 podcast and they talk about the Nuon... WAY too much Nuon in one week lol.
