Hates Resident Evil 4 and Half Life but likes Animal Crossing.

Jeff has bad taste and should feel bad.

Part of it is he is just turned off by all the hype, fervor and fandom that games like RE4, HL and Nights get when he personally already has problems with the games mechanically.

Animal Crossing is awesome, but is on a Katamari Damacy level of pointless sequels.

I am sure if you play the most recent one you will have a blast, but the older ones are not worth going back to. Except the Gamecube one, because of NES games.

It's Nintendo's second worst franchise after Pokemon, that's what's wrong.

Wow. Someone who thinks that WiiMusic and WiiFit are better games then Animal Crossing. I guess there is always bound to be one, but I could not disagree more.

And yeah...Jeff is great at what he does, but that does not mean that he has impeccable taste in games. No one does.

I don't want to meet the person who has 'good taste in games'. I imagine they would be the same kind of person whose favorite bands are Neutral Milk Hotel, Radiohead, Beatles. They would be the kind of person who likes stuff based only on what's highly acclaimed. No individuality whatsoever.

Right, people started listening to some little British skiffle band playing in dingy nightclubs in Germany because they were popular. That makes sense. Did you ever think that maybe SOMETIMES things become popular because they are good, or do you wipe your ass with newspaper because toilet paper is too "highly acclaimed"?

This and the new SimCity gameplay is making me want to reinstall Theme Park or Theme Hospital.

I miss the genre. I wish it was as popular as it used to be. A lot of the smaller developers have good ideas, but they're never as good as the classics.

lol chill out bro, i never said they were good or bad.

I don't see why it needs to be either extreme. There are hipster gamers of course, Patrick is one more or less, he seems to care more about what his choice of game says about him than what he has to say about his choice of games.

It's cool that Jeff doesn't care what people think about his tastes, that doesn't mean people can't comment on them. His job is to provide purchasing advice for people, if his tastes are inconsistent with people and more importantly, unpredictable, it makes his opinions of less value than someone of a more mainstream, or predictable taste.

I like all three of those bands...

But I get what you mean.

As long as they're honest, and explain their opinions clearly and properly, that's all I care about. That's all I want. Off-the-wall taste doesn't bother me, otherwise I wouldn't be watching a stream of a golf course sim right now.

Nice work, Drew, hahaha

There has been far too much talking about games in the last couple pages of this thread...

Check out Prison Architect. It's by Introversion (the British guys who made Darwinia, DEFCON, Uplink etc), and currently available as a buyable alpha.

They put out a pretty funny warning video regarding alphas and the caveats that come with them.

Seems like he loves it. Don't see anything else to prove otherwise.

The Kinect is known for its fantastic games, safe to assume that Fable: The Journey is another in a long line of fabulous Kinect titles. But after great games like Steel Battallion: Heavy Armor, I wouldn't expect anything other than excellence. It's Kinect, after all!

As a hardcore gamer that owns almost all the consoles, Kinect is sure to end up in my christmas stocking!

And don't forget about these testimonials by real gamers about how good Fable: The Journey is: http://youtu.be/JTindUKAcmg

Well he said he was serious twice, and this certainly isn't taking away from Fable 4 existing, so he must be serious.

Absolutely. And I'm sure he was just referring to his back problems and headache with this tweet:
@SilentBob_G Nothing I try works. Blinds open, blinds closed, various lights on or off, every posture I can sit in. It's all shit.
