I hadn´t had a chance to watch those live. Gonna do so now.

Once they are online, everyone should at least check out the segment with Brad and Jeff and the one with Jeff Green. Those were my favorites. Also the Drew part for an amazing tricaster story.

Yeah, hopefully he's talking specifically about the Giant Bomb World Tour. The Raid is all about a quick-in, quick-out robbery of gaming treasures, stopping only for beef bowls. None of this appearing in parking lots business.

Besides, did you even hear Jeff talk about it? They'd practically lose money by NOT going!

She's jealous they can be entertaining on camera, even casually on a Monday morning. She's yet to talk in to one without ruining whatever her segment is in!
 
Well, that sure is a bummer if it really was talking about The Raid. But, I wonder if it would be feasible for them to fund it through premium members. I'm not sure how much Jeff expects The Raid to cost, but with the amount of premium members they have it doesn't seem like it would be too far-fetched of an idea.

I think during the last BLLSL the ticker was around 16,000? If they were to get a $1 donation from at least 75% of their premium members, that'd take care of at least the air fare.

I'm sorry, of course Killzone is not perfect, but it's worth at the very least 7,5. Giving it 6.9??? I mean, you guys gave Earth defense force 2017 a 7.0!!! Are you saying that Kilzone is a wtorse game than that crap?

I have to say, I'm not a fan of the new Giant Bomb dress code of beards with the cheeks shaven. Ryan and Vinny have been cheek-shavers forever, and now Brad's doing it, too. I feel like the whole point of a beard is hair on your face, not your neck. You shave it down where the throat meets the neck, and below the ears a little so it doesn't look like it's looping around to meet the hair on the back of your head, but leave the cheeks alone. The higher up it goes the better.

Yeah, it sucks having hair all over your cheeks, but you've got to deal with it if you want a real beard.

In what conceivable universe would the following quote be referring to The Raid?

But with the amount of money I wanted to spend shipping the team around the continent and putting on shows it'd be the sort of thing that would need a sponsor, like some sort of "and after the show let's meet up in the Fast Food Restaurant #3 or Big But Failing Tech Retailer #7 Parking Lot" sort of public appearance thing.

People were saying that "none of this pertains to the raid", which rings untrue as for the raid to be a GiantBomb thing it would probably require a sponsor and need to be sanctioned by CBSi as well.

But I don't think there is any reasonable uproar about "non-endemic" advertisement, the Keighley picture was just used as a great opener by the author of that Eurogamer article to shine a light on the fact that video game PR and journalists are often much too close. People moaning about non-endemic advertisement are barking up the wrong tree.

The idea is to get CBSi to pay for part of the trip, since it's about producing content for the site. Outside sponsorship sounds ridiculous in the context of the raid, since it's a smash-and-grab kind of thing and Giant Bomb has no significant fanbase in Japan (that I know of). Besides, can you imagine any sponsor understanding or backing such a proposal?
 
Hmm, I might have been a bit overzealous and misread that part.

Still, it's actually kind of interesting that they still wanted to do a world tour.

It just seems likely to me that "The Raid" was meant as well, as we haven't heard about the world tour for a long time now (excluding Jeff's most recent post, which I evidently didn't read carefully enough).

They were talking about getting sponsor for their visit to Japan on the podcast.

Raid or world tour - what's the difference in terms of (false) internet outrage about a specific sponsorship CBSi might be scared of? Of course, paying for a single trip might not require a direct sponsorship. In the end, only Jeff knows ;)

I must have missed that. Either way, I'm sure he'll clarify what he means soon enough. Probably on tonight's podcast, in fact, when they inevitably talk about Dorito-gate.

I know I would be more than willing to throw down money to see this act of stupidity through.
