In my opinion Brads review is a lightning rod for all the people out there that were convinced the new DMC could be nothing but terrible. Any review that says otherwise seems to be wrong...

You can focus only on the negative parts if you just want to be angry at the world. I just think it's funny that this guy is shitting all over the game, then links "the only review that matters", and it's generally very positive about the gameplay. You'd think this was a Dragon Age->Dragon Age 2 level of franchise destruction based on the reactions.
That seems so real and plausible it's scaring me.

It's not about hardcore fans being able to compare it to the older games. It's about Brad reviewing it without caring about the old games. This game wasn't for people like crazy cat avatar guy and this review isn't either. So the claim that Brad's review has zero merit to anyone because he didn't finish DMC3 is absurd. Him having played part 1 - 4 has zero meaning when it comes to sharing his point of view on a fresh reboot.

Let them weep. I love them talking about the game. I'm so happy Capcom went in a bold, new direction one of their big franchies and it's a great game. Almost willing to forgive Resident Evil 6 and Operation Raccoon City being hot trash piles.

This looks pretty good so far.
Wasn't the complaint that the Style Meter could only go up and not down? I thought I read that somewhere. That once you locked in SSS, you could just use the same move over and over again without penalty.

Brad did the exact same thing in the quick look just nobody realised it. He seemed to pull off a devil dodge into the Arbiter string so get an SSS.

Yeah, there was a bit of a silence after Brad was talking about how S and SSS were hard to get and then his score for the level gave him S and SS for everything.

They needed to explain where the 5/5 came from I guess. It makes sense from a more casual (ugh) viewpoint but for hardcores is pretty much useless, and that's fine. Looks competently made but not what I'm looking for personally.
