Giant Bomb Thread The Third: #TeamBrad

They needed to explain where the 5/5 came from I guess. It makes sense from a more casual (ugh) viewpoint but for hardcores is pretty much useless, and that's fine. Looks competently made but not what I'm looking for personally.

Yeah, but they are really dwelling on it in this quicklook.

Is anyone else really...bored of Giantbomb's way of doing things after these past few years?

Playing a game and then still not figuring out the most basic of concepts or always going into every game blind. It would honeslty hand on heart be amazing to watch them play a game they know things about and have genuine interest in.

I don't get why they feel like they have to work so hard to justify Brad's review.

That damage control at the end of the Quick Look was especially hilarious. Go support Bayonetta 2 guys, because Capcom just killed the franchise you loved. Too bad!

OUR REVIEWS ARE NOT FOR EVERYONE!

Joking aside, they did what they did and their opinion stands, even if I am not agreeing with it.

Yeah, there was a bit of a silence after Brad was talking about how S and SSS were hard to get and then his score for the level gave him S and SS for everything.

To be fair I kinda smirked at this a bit.

But this QL was done after Brad finished the game and gave it 5/5?

Nothing but Sleeping Dogs and Trackmania quick looks for the rest of the year.

They do, in all kinds of other features. What you're describing are just the Quick Looks, which are what they purport to be. They've only got so many guys and a lot of content to produce.

Patrick seems to bring up internet-rage more often than the other guys in QLs. That's probably why they discussed it so much.

Eh, it was pretty relevant to this game. Although I think Patrick seems to interact with the community more so he probably encounters more internet-rage as well.

I dunno, if it weren't for brad's glowing review of Enslaved i wouldn't have even played it and that game was great. He is a gentleman of fine tastes, imho.

Oh shit, was it Brad that did Enslaved? Fuck..maybe he really is the hero we deserve.

Me too. Enslaved was great! Watching quicklook again now :)
edit: oh it's the 11 minute one, lol

I honestly had no idea that people actively enjoyed Enslaved. I can understand people not hating it, but enjoying it?

I really despised Enslaved.

It wasn't enjoyable to me as a game or a story or an experience or even technologically.

I'd rather play any terrible Dragonball game ten times in a hot room before I would play Enslaved again in comfort.

I really enjoyed Dishonored for its stealth mechanics but everything else felt like they had no idea what the game was supposed to be.

I feel like the "You can play it as an action game" path just shouldn't have been there at all and they should have just spent all their focus and effort on making sure the stealth design was as smooth as possible.

I hope CBSi/Gamestop cosiders Brad head reviewer of all GB's games.
He prints (clicks) money.

That's the upside of all this. They be rolling in money now.

I mean just think of it. What is it a tenth of a cent for a pageview? And they must be... at least a couple hundred!

look i just have a thing for games where you spend 95% of them crouching and throwing unconscious bodies into corners and crawling on vents or rooftops

dishonored also had a magical teleport sooooo i was a bit more ready to forgive that every guard in dunwall is Indeed I Believe So getting their own squad after what happened last night, or that the game couldn't decide whether it wanted a huge world lore or an intricate political plot so it split the difference by giving you really watered down versions of both

I feel like Dishonored's stealth fell apart for me the first time I walked in front of a group of people carrying an unconscious woman over my shoulder and no one said anything because they did not have the AI triggers to go "Wait, what"

Huh. I definitely had that happen to me once (at least I thought it did). It might have just been one specific area, though.

Then again, the game has some weird AI glitches. I once reloaded a quicksave after dying, and it broke the scripted event I quicksaved during. And another time I ran through a door into another area while time was completely stopped, but any time I exited the area it acted like I had been just been spotted but the guards outside had decided not to inform the guards inside.

Then there was the time I had deaths counted against me because of AI freaking out and killing each other or running into rats, or the NPC who blew himself up trying to walk through a door with whale oil and nobody in the crowded heavily guarded mansion heard it, or how characters seemed to be able to float next to chairs, or how Samuel's head liked to flip out in the boat.

I liked Enslaved. I think I'll check out DMC when it's cheaper though.
Okay, surely no one liked Heavenly Sword?
I thought it was alright. From a story perspective the cinematics were killing any other game out there.

I still think they're pretty decent. Kai was awesome.

Combat was mediocre and the graphics had terrible performance issues. I kind of wish NT would have gotten another crack at it.
