Makes sense to me! FE is complex, obscure, difficult, has perma-death and it's got animes. Perfect game for Dave.

Nah, it is pretty interesting.
That said, I think I'm might excluded from your conclusion. Out of the top 20/21 I did, only two titles showed up in the lower half. I think most of the other titles have no chance of showing up in my list (well, at least seriously anyway) and you can say the same about some of my choices and the GiantBomb list.
Any similarities seems to be based on what Vinny likes. Probably related to the fact he is my favorite personality in the crew.
EDIT: The most brutal aspects of FE are optional in the new ones. I also believe you can grind levels in this one.
I like this causal Friday stuff. Picking a game that a GB'er wants to play is always awesome. However, regarding Castlevania-

Yeah, seeing them taking forty minutes to move statues was tedious as hell, but Jeff reading Space Jam made up for everything.
Doing my top 10 list rammed home how few games I play each year that come out in that year. Deus Ex HR, Driver SF and Resonance of Fate really soaked up a lot of my gaming time in 2012.
AC3 Liberation was 10th on my list and I haven't even started it. But I get a little pop-up about it every time I start my Vita to play P4G. And the dumb rules meant DMC HD wasn't eligible. It would have been 3rd.

It works with the HTML 5 player for certain, and probably others if you have it set right.
I believe it will only work on HTML5 and the Streaming player.
Skipping ahead does not work with streaming for me. It def works with html5.
Was watching some random videos, and came across their Skyrim stuff. Am I the only one that prefers to play in 3rd person? The animations, the enhanced field of vision, the ability to see my badass armor get-ups. I only go into first person for bow action.

Yeah Chivalry is one of my games of the year. It is really cool both in intimate duels and in large scale battles.
In my experience, skipping works in Streaming ONLY if you set the quality to "Auto," which for me, defaults to Low Quality, so it sucks whenever it's a long video of a PC game 'cause I can't read the text.
When it gives me the option for the youtube player skipping works
Oh yeah, but premium content doesn't have a Youtube mirror.

Though my list is a little more RPG-oriented/JP-oriented, I see what you're saying. I'd wanted to try XCOM, Hotline Miami, and Mark of the Ninja during the voting period but didn't get around to them. If I see something they've previewed that I think that I might like, I'll try it out.
Out of the ones that got on their overall top 10, Sleeping Dogs and Journey got on my list via honourable mentions. And going by individual lists, I guess I'd fall more in line with... um... that's a good question, actually. Haha.

Wish I played more games from last year to merit forming a list. I played stuff like Walking Dead, Sleeping Dogs and Dishonored but aside from Walking Dead none of the "big" games really left an impact personally. I mostly played catch-up with my backlog with the only notable 2012 released time sinks for me being Tekken Tag 2, Persona 4 Arena and Persona 4 Golden. So a venn diagram of fighting games/Persona fighting game/Persona basically describes most of my year.
Don't worry if he gets a BAD END he'll have enough scoops to post properly next time.

Drew's note taking skills/determination far exceed my own. Most impressive. I hope he gets the shooting stuff figured out in all the flight games so we can get some more combat one day.

Pretty sure Sky Combat Ace is what Jeff was talking about. Looks cool, but Namco sure did drop some cash just to entertain a bunch of journo's.
It was a terrible showing, Vinny already apologized on Twitter.
The part they showed is actually very trivial and short - if you know the controls and what moves are available to you. Vinny forgot how to do the dash, which was introduced one or two levels earlier in the game, and he forgot how to grapple things. Unfortunately, the chat told him to hold RT which made everything even worse because you're only supposed to tap RT. That's the reason he let go of the statue every single time. Yeah, it was pretty infuriating to watch.
Hopefully he's prepared if he decides to play it again next week. I'd suggest to start over. Last time he played it was almost two years ago, he should at least play by himself for a while before doing another live show with the game. For sure he's forgotten a lot and he's bound to get stuck again if he decides to continue where he left of. On top, the combat looks unnecessarily boring and takes way too long when you're not utilizing all these awesome moves that you bought (use the "chainsaw", Vinny! And less areal attacks... those do hardly any damage and are only there for crowd control).
The next sub-chapter is very puzzle/coop-with-Zobek-heavy. And you need to find handles for some contraption. I predict frustration.

I only played the first three hours of the original assassin's creed before deciding it was the exact opposite of what I find enjoyable in a game, and Brad's time playing this one only made me feel good about my decision to never play or touch them again.
