Giant Bomb Vive stream | What a Time to Be a Vive!

So what are the odds on someone falling on their ass tripping over the cable before the stream is done?

Yes, you people are right. Those Valve demos and SelfieTennis just looked like the best.

I dunno, the valve stuff seemed super charming and well written, and anyway isn't it free with the headset?

There was a Shark Tank episode where Omni was trying to sell it's equipment that lets you run in place. Sharks did not want to fund it since it was a niche product that cost too much money. Give it some time and it could catch on.

Actually, they changed the ending for TV. Mark Cuban was actually interested and wound up investing in them.

Posted this in Vive launch thread, didn't see a GB stream thread. Sounds to me like they flipped stereo in the stream. Anyone else notice this?

They were just talking about this and I thought the positional audio was bad. Put my headphones on backwards and now it's great

[edit] Hmmm on job simulator it's back to normal

i still think some kind of vest with a horse tail flexible arm that holds the cable behind you but away from your body about 12inches would be great to keep the cable from under your feet
or like a knapsack

I also like apple pie, if you want to crap all over that next.

This stuff is fun and completely unique to the new tech, damn right some people are going to get excited.

Nintendo must be seeing this and thinking to themselves "we really jumped the gun with the Wii. We could've done so much better if we waited a few more years".

Neat, glad to hear that. I think it can work great.
Also Job Simulator is hilarious.

I'm one of the pathfinders who got theirs early and wrote up my opinions on it after a month of use here:

I think the omni is a great option for people who want to play conventional games in VR (like using VorpX). It definitely offers a different experience than roomscale tracking. It's also compatible with the Vive. I'm going to try Windlands on my Omni because it has lots of moments where it expects you to walk endlessly in one direction (normally mapped to the vive controller).
