Problem is the Wii was $250 and worked with basically any tv.

VR's price and ease-of-use will eventually get to the point where the casual gamer or non-gamer will be sold after trying it out at a friend or family member's house. Not for a few years at least though.

You don't think the Vive or something like it will be at $500 in 3-5 years? At that point it'd likely be able to be plugged right into your smartphone. People would have it set up at home and just plug it in/dock their phone to it.

I think the room stuff and motion controllers go a long way towards making VR seem more real. The oculus was just a 360 degree screen strapped to your face with you played normal games with a controller. This actually seems like a real space.
