Giant Bomb Vive stream | What a Time to Be a Vive!

I don't think anyone is. I hope devs include WASD movement options in their games for those with high tolerance to VR sickness, and the lucky few with Omni-treadmills.

I think this game (budget cuts) is the only one I've seen where it actually works well.

Latency is far too high. It might be acceptable when used on a regular screen, but any added latency is VR is magnified.

I have heard the badwidth is a bigger problem. These Headsets really need 4k per eye resolution. I don't think current HDMI can handle that right now, let alone a wireless solution.

Not really. A launch console doesn't require the space this does and the only console I've ever known to cost $800 was NeoGeo.

Only certain software requires the space. It does every thing the rift does but offers room scale if you want it.

Yes, but that is because Budget cuts is designed for it and it doesn't feel out of place or "workaroundy".

If you wanted to make an ARMA like military shooter, having teleportation mechanics doesn't really fit.

Does that make since?

Like I said I would love to see a test. Just went looking and it looks like a couple youtubers are going to do that. So that wil be fun to see
See them puke.
Though we have seen people playing fighting games and Dark Souls titles to completion using them. So just would be fun.

Only without the first party AAA exclusive

Or, and this goes for Oculus as well, the promise that AAA games are coming! We have no clue what to expect from Oculus or Vive over the next year. It could take years for them to develop as gaming platforms, and the direction they go might not even appeal to you.

What are you talking about here?

Oh I don't know... maybe if you want to walk around your room and get the room-scale VR experience there seems like a pretty glaring safety hazard attached to the back of your head and running along the floor.

I'm all for standing and seated experiences but right now, actually walking around with that shit, nope.

Been quickly skipping through the stream but 1) the Vive finds a way to make using the Oculus look cool 2) it looks like it even more demo focused then the Oculus was.

Yea that's what I mean. When the game isn't designed around it, and you're just repeatedly teleporting down a corridor or around a room, it just feels wrong. It actually detracts from the immersion that vr should give you.

I'm seeing more than enough where I can spend $100-150 plus having the included stuff and be happy until other titles start hitting sales.

Man, I really underestimated what the Vive controllers would add to the VR experience. Let's hope Oculus Touch is similarly good.

They've only had good things to say about the Oculus controllers when they've tried them out at least.

This looks cool.

Do we know if AAA games with huge budgets and staff are coming?

If I wasn't planning on developing stuff for VR, and experimenting with it, I would not be buying in this early. My partner and I are looking at VR as a possible "system" to get noticed on since mobile is so crowded and the tradition gaming space is kind of cost prohibitive due to our currently Non-existant funding state (aka. we have no money to hire more people right now).

I can understand people waiting, this tech is in its infancy after all, but I cannot, and will not, tolerate people shitting on VR and calling it a waggle like gimmick.

It is, and always has been, the future of human entertainment. I guess that scares some people so they feel the need to shit post about it constantly.

I am not directing this at you or any one person btw.
