Lotta people in that PSVR GDC thread are expecting a price and I'm expecting a lot of disappointed people when there is no price.
avatar bet that we get a price?
100 percent positive it is happening myself
Do it.

2 hours? Holy shit.
Welcome to my life!
Except mine is a 4 hour one of you count both ways.

When we do get a price, I 100% expect a No Man's Sky type revolt. The people betting on this one being the thing they actually can afford are going to be saddened when they see how much it'll cost with the PS Moves and Camera they're gonna need.
Mmkay. I'm thinking they show off games, talk about technical jargon, and say there will be information about price and release date at E3.
How long?
I'm expecting a price but I won't be disappointed if they don't announce it.
That's madness.
"I'm disappointed they didn't do a marketing thing at me"
Which Sony is trying to blow out of their warehouse really.
I can see this being cheaper option. I don't know if it's cheaper the way the mass market wants it to be though.

$300 is a comfortable entry price. I can't see it being that cheap.
The latest victim? Marios youngest fans, apparently.
I think for the people on the bubble like me who are tech junkies, but aren't people who will throw $600 at a first gen piece of tech, that's a good entry price. For the mainstream? I don't think $300 + the cost of a PS4 is going to sell it, not without some amazing software at least. I don't even really see that large of a chunk of PS4 owners biting at $300.
The good thing is that these companies don't seem to be really aiming mainstream with these first gens of tech, so that gives them time to get it cheaper. Hopefully Sony has reasonable sales expectations.

Goddammit.
$399 without PS Camera or Controllers. Yep. Too rich for me, but I'm glad there's something cheaper than the frankly a bit hilarious PC VR space. Now I hope Sony can back it up with good software.
Thankfully I already have the camera but I assume they will sell Move controllers in duo pack for probably 60$...
If anyone is interested in PSVR and doesn't have Move Controllers or a Camera, you might want to grab those now if you can still find a place clearing them out. I fully expect Sony to relaunch those as part of a PSVR line and the price will shoot back to full price.
Recycling Move is one of the more disappointing developments about PSVR. It's an impressive controller but without a stick or movement input, it can't replicate what the Oculus and Vive controllers do. At the same time, the DS4 has impressive tracking on its own. Maybe you can get by with one DS4 and one Move?
I'll be a bit democratic about it, since it's primary season and all.Goddammit.

Pick 3 real stupid VR photos and let the thread select among the 3. You'll have to wear it until giant bomb does a review on a VR exclusive game.
Though seriously, too many people are thinking that if this doesn't see the same numbers as an established consoles. Of course it isn't, that's not how new tech works.
As long as Sony has reasonable expectations, they'll be fine. The problem is going to be enticing Devs to come over to a smaller pond of potential sales. I don't think just porting existing games to VR is going to work or sell anyone on the tech.
On the same token, I don't get the Cinematic Mode thing. It seems like a weird stopgap to get people excited about anything. I'm not going to wear a heavy VR headset for hours on end and subject myself to the eyestrain of a screen that close when I already have a perfectly good TV. Having the screen be cinema sized seems more hassle than useful.
Also, Sony's sound solution for PSVR seems to be a pair of garbage earbuds, so if you like good audio you'll also need to add the cost of headphones.

Link to the Past is no fun
The cinematic mode just seems to be an indication to their original hmd customers to move onto the psvr. Which is hilariously more expensive than the psvr.
Headphones aren't a problem for me. Or a problem depending on how you look at it.
