Whoa how did I not know jeff was in a band/rap crew? He opened for run DMC at some point?

Do we have any clips or any other time he's talked about it?

Probably. I think he's mentioned it from time to time-

But there's loads of their stuff out there. Search youtube for "Midnight Brown"

I want to make a compilation of Brad asking "Is this the year?" in terms of Call of Duty losing public interest. I feel like he has been saying it since the first Black Ops.

Also I'm surprised Brad reacted somewhat dismissively when Jeff commented about getting back into Marvel Heroes. After his Destiny experiences I thought he'd be more into games with loot.
I feel like he's been saying that since Call of Duty 3.

Those games are turning into more of a service anyway.

Like how there isn't a new CS released every year.

As far as paid mods go, I am against it entirely. It just has too much potential for abuse. If you're using modding to get into the game industry, put your work in your portfolio and keep working at McDonald's or whatever.
Oh yea, of course modders would be in favor of making money from them, that is a terrible side of the argument.

I didn't watch the Avalon segment from BLLSL yet but the argument about the thumbs is still hilarious to me.

Yes, technically, there is a wasp in figs.

The fig wasp pollinates the female fig by burying into it and in the process dies inside. Enzymes in the plant break down the wasp though, so you won't see any wasp bits in the fig.

I havent listened to this yet, but I've figured for a long time that Kirkhope gets shade from being in the shade of one David "The Fucking Man" Wise for a large part of their careers (similar situation with Masaharu Iwata being in Hitoshi Sakimoto's shade so long).

OK, so that went NOWHERE near where I thought it would
Jeff, you're going to keep doing this to Work some anti-Wise beef aintcha?

Brad's limiter keeps him from sounding like Unknown Henson.

I'm listening to this Taylor Swift song "Style" for the first time, and what the fuck, does this use a sample from a Hotline Miami song?

Agreed, that was a pretty pointed group of emails, the outspoken modders that took part in the paid mods aren't the consensus of the mod community.

That dungeon is complete bullshit, it's the only time throughout my entire playthrough of any Souls game where I've felt "this is unfair". There's absolutely no justification for them cutting your HP in half, and it doesn't happen in the main game either. Complete garbage.

Sounds like a throwback to Demon's Souls. In that game, your health bar is half size if you are not human. And you lose your "human" state each time you die.

There are ways to reduce this penalty of course, but that was one of the mechanics in the game that went "Welcome to Demon's Souls. Fuck you."

i thought dark souls 2 had a realy good compromise on that one. you don't go straight from 100% to 50% upon dying, but it does drop 10% each time you die, but stops at 50%. so basically you had to die 5 times before you lost the full 50%

Demon's Souls don't care.

Demon's Souls gonna cut heads.

You guys are blowing my mind right now in a spoilery kind of way. I was wondering why everyone was bitching so hard about the defiled chalice dungeons. And at the same time I was wondering why there was 0 death penalty in Bloodborne besides having to go get your souls (including no insight loss). This really brings things into perspective for me.

i hunted this thread down because i'm just now listening to that section and the fact they prefer Kirkhope's track over the Wise track is just insanity.

Unfortunately it's now become part of their shtick to hate on one of the best composers the video game industry has ever had, so they'll just double down on it until the end of time every time it comes up because that's part of the new joke. Posts like this calling them out on it will also have them double down simply out of spite. Then you have the people who religiously follow GB's opinions no matter what who will jump on the train. In the end you have a new group of Wise-haters that exist where previously there was none, which I entirely blame Dan for.

Oh please. Everyone on earth is trolling over this, except the few people who don't get the joke.

yeah, he probably shouldn't have played all those lame tropical freeze tracks for the rest of the crew

wise is fantastic, but I didn't get anything out of any of the clips I heard dan play

i mean, everyone is free to like what they like. i don't think Jeff actually hates the Wise track, his hyperbolic statements are too obvious to be taken as anything other than total sarcasm. it's more that, to me, there is a clear disparity between the relative production value between the two pieces of music. Kirkhope's is smaller in scope and certainly more cartoonish to the point of child-like. Wise's just comes out swinging with that reverbed guitar strumming and doesn't let up. the depth to it is undeniable.

but again, opinions. anyone getting worked up at the supposed vitriol on the podcast isn't really paying attention. i just think the Wise track is the clear winner and was surprised at the split in preference between the duders.
