It's just annoying as heck man, the argument never moves from the same. "It's hardly a game because there is no goal or reason for playing, Blah, blah Blah"
I'm sorry, I didn't say it was hardly a game. Thanks for playing though.

Maybe YOU don't understand the reasons for playing Animal Crossing. Maybe your primitive monkey brain cannot comprehend the meaning behind why Bob the cat asks you to get his gameboy from 10 different people in 2 days.
I'm sorry it seems to me that you're the one that lacks basic reading comprehension. But pointless
ad hominen attacks aside, I can "comprehend" just fine why Bob the cat asks what he does. I can also comprehend that from a gameplay perspective it's hideously boring and takes absolutely no skill whatsoever. There's nothing satisfying here that makes me, as a gamer, feel that I have achieved anything. It's simply going from point A to point B to point C to point D so that hopefully you can get a rug you didn't previously have. It is, essentially, "Gaming for Dummies".

Perhaps you haven't achieved the level of enlightment required to communicate properly through letters with the villagers in your town. Maybe - just maybe - if you let go of expectation you would be able to grasp the symbolism behind why collecting stuff is supposed to feel rewarding in and of itself.
Ok. hahaha. Man, I'm having a hard time maintaining a straight face. Ok... let's break this down...

Yes, that must be it. It has nothing to do with fucking horrible A.I. that couldn't tell the word "the" from "sun" apart even if God himself was writing the letters. It must be that I lack enlightenment! I also, apparantely, lack the condescening attitude to write letters that the piss poor AI can understand! BUT AT LEAST I'LL GET A WALLPAPER FROM THEM!

*spits out soda*
Hahahahahaahhahahahahahaha. :lol :lol
"Symbolism" behind why collecting stuff is supposed to feel rewarding!? Hahahahaha.
Oh *gasp* Boy, I literally :lol 'ed in real life. That was
brilliant.
No, I understand why it's
supposed to feel rewarding. I just understand that it doesn't at all feel rewarding since there are absolutely no factors that challenge any aspect of my gaming talents in order to complete. It's either trial and error or walking from point A to point B or playing some crappy mini-game so poorly implemented that you almost wish that they didn't even bother.
But, like I said, I recognize the game appeals to certain people. There are certain people who inexplicably like to play games where you collect things for hours and weeks and months without any change in the already tedious and strategy-less gameplay. I understand this.
It just doesn't appeal to me, and that is why I consider it one of the worst games this generation. I say that with no hyperbole.

The goal and denstination do not count. There is a beginning but no end. It's all about the journey baby, and that isn't a bad thing. It is after all, only a game
I didn't say the game needed to have a goal or destination. Once again, thanks for playing.
And, I agree, it is all about the journey. Too bad the journey, for me, is damn near slit-wrist worthy.
