It was found lost in a bar in Redwood City

Blu_LED said:Why don't they turn it on, or show it turned on? I'm assuming it's the same OS?
tokkun said:The article from the OP says that their source told them the phone was remote killed by Apple before it got to Gizmodo.
No NDA signed, and not stolen = no obligation to Apple. But maybe Apple won't invite them to press conferences anymore...pakkit said:So it gets lost at a bar and quickly gets picked up by Gizmodo who disassembles it despite Apple reporting it missing?
Right.

TEH INNOVASHUNS! ! !
DeathNote said:Someone finds it and sends it to gizmodo to take pictures and videos? Bullshit.
It comes out in a few months. Apple gave it to them.

Yeah---tokkun said:The article from the OP says that their source told them the phone was remote killed by Apple before it got to Gizmodo.
They've an obligation to return it and they certainly don't have the right to disassemble itnumble said:No NDA signed, and not stolen = no obligation to Apple. But maybe Apple won't invite them to press conferences anymore...

it looks like every other smartphone shell out there now.345triangle said:i think lots of people will think like you, like they did about the third gen nano.
i thought they were crazy too!
If it's not planted, I feel like they don't have as much of a case if it was actually just found. Companies can usually sue for leaks based on the fact that the person that gave it to them probably broke an NDA and the receiver is complicit, kind of like an accomplice, in breaking that NDA. I am not really well-versed in the laws of finding lost items, however.teruterubozu said:Apple's lawyers would be all over this like flies on shit. Totally planted.

You guys spend too much time on the gaming side.
lawblob said:Apple's lawyers also can't file motions on Sunday afternoons. I mean, they aren't ninjas. Injunctions and cease & desist orders don't magically pop up out of the ether on Sunday afternoons.

This is going to hurt my 3GS resale value...
Also, want.

Gizmodo said:According to the person who found it, this iPhone was running iPhone OS 4.0 before the iPhone 4.0 announcement. The person was able to play with it and see the iPhone 4.0 features. Then, Apple remotely killed the phone before we got access to it. We were unable to restore because each firmware is device specific3GS firmware only loads on 3GS devicesand the there are no firmwares available for this unreleased phone. Which is another clue to its authenticity.
teruterubozu said:I've seen paltry video game companies act faster with screenshot leaks. Apple is letting this one fly.
