Hmm...the more I watch those Gizmodo videos, the more I'm OK with the design.

I'll live if that's final I guess. :lol
Dude, you know you'll take whatever Apple gives you and love it :D

and smh @ guys complaining about the design. thank God they upgraded the look. don't be mad now that your 3GS looks like last year's shit.
You're the second person to say people poo-pooing the design are 3GS owners who are bummed.

Where is this coming from? :lol

Maybe... MAYBE!
probably
.

Looks nice. Smaller screen @ higher res would be great except I find myself having a hard time text when not in landscape mode as it is. I'd be a wreck trying to 1-hand text with a smaller screen.

If this leak is a fake, what are the chances apple would respond and say so? I'd think the longer their silence lasts the more concrete this story becomes.

I think the phone looks fine myself, certainly much nicer than this HTC android.

Can't wait for official media, the iPhone 4G/HD will be my first iPhone, I have to enjoy it while it's hot!

Is there anything different with the internals? It doesn't seem drastically different from the 3Gs. I guess im an Apple Hater, but there's nothing this has over the HD2, Incredible, or any other upcoming major smartphone shown off as of yet.
It may not have anything on the hardware side but it has everything on the software side.

fixed for accuracy. I don't care if they change it from the 3GS/3G design. I do care if they use a completely uninspired and boring design used by a huge number of current phones. maybe it looks different in my hands, maybe it will feel like holding nothing at all.. I'm not going to let boring looks stopping me from getting one. I just liked being able to use my iphone and everyone around me knowing I'm using an iphone.. compared to using my phone and everyone not even thinking anything of it because it looks like every other phone.

the higher res screen is enough of a 'wow' for me, although, at this point, i'm tilting towards android once next year rolls around.

I got my first iPhone, a 3GS, a few months ago. How do upgrades work and how much are they, typically?

You can sell your 3GS on ebay or something to help pay for the new iphone. Or just save 100 bucks per month until the phone comes out.

Yeah, if it was "lost" in a bar, wouldn't a normal person bring it to the bar management where the owner could go back and find it, instead of taking it home and posting pictures of it on the internet?

I can see where Apple is coming from when they say it was technically stolen. If someone randomly just found it on the sidewalk, it would be different.

*Hopes this dude is a joke character*

And it doesn't really look THAT different from the current iPhone. If people could spot you using an iPhone before, they should still be able to tell with this new one. All slate-type phones w/ touch screens basically look the same, not much you can do differently.

I wonder what Steve Jobs is doing/thinking right now.
Probably a mixture of anger that it got out and joy that people are apparently digging it.

Apple will be very "no official comment" until July, at which point it'll be some off-handed joke about how the hardware reveal is a "big surprise" or something during the keynote.

:lol That's funny.

I really like how the new iPhone looks. Although, I'm wondering what new additions to the OS it's gonna have, if anything.

Might get one for Christmas. Who knows.

It does look like every other phone, because everybody fucking has one!

I was one of the first people in my office to get a 3G, I work at an engineering firm and there are at least 80 iPhones in my company, this is on top of the many I see daily.

You can't stand out with an iPhone!

It'll naturally ship with OS4 and all the features included within.

meh.. you guys might think it sounds stupid or petty... but for an industry that has always seemingly prided itself on original, innovative, and/or artistic designs, it just seems that once smartphones took over as the norm everything just became 100% generic looking. all slate phones look like all slate phones and all qwerty phones look like all qwerty phones, etc. boring.

There are some major areas where Android is very very far behind the Iphone, but they are mostly limited to gaming and business. Other then that, its personal preference

basically all the new iphone has to do is improve the screen, there doesnt need to be any other revolutionary change to it. A bump in the processor is most likely as well, but the only real noticable difference hardware wise when you sit a Nexus One-esque (incredible, desire, etc) phone next to a 3gs is the screen.

incredible, isn't it? buying shit for the singular purpose of hoping *someone else* cares about it to make you feel better?

anyway, can't wait. will be a worthy upgrade from my 3G. for the upgraded screen alone. I bet the iChat implementation is gonna be sick.

Jet Grind Radio! said:
Well, yes yes. I know it'll come with OS 4, I meant extra features. Like the 3GS had a compass while the 3G didn't.
iChat with video chat sounds like a lock for the new phone at least.

if this is leaked intentionally, it is to make people stop looking for new iPhone info.

but I'll upgrade my 2G for this. (better battery ++++)

The Nexus is a joke and I hope Google or HTC comes out with a new hardware release of it or a successor and put that dog out to pasture. god what an awful experience with that pos.

feels like only the Windows Phone 7 phones will stand between Apple and absolute mobile domination.

considering they'll be starting their "app store" damn near from scratch...I hope MS is gonna be up for the challenge. I love a good fight. I just don't think it's a fight they can win this time.

Yup. I wonder if the apple games network will use the front camera to show the player's face.

Don't you mean android? WP7 is going to have an uphill battle with other smartphones before they try to touch iphone.

Fixed for accuracy.

Probably not, though. Isn't an app like PhotoSwap only allowed because there is moderation of the images to remove anything objectionable?

As in, I don't think Apple is cool with swapping photos with strangers. Might be wrong, but I never understood the point of PhotoSwap's moderation unless it was mandated of them.

960x640 display? :/
I don't wanna cater to two resolutions

Unless they updated the article since I read it, they didn't know what resolution it was other than 'seems sharper than the existing iPhone' and the comment about 960x640 was just a mention of a previous rumor.

you act like the world hasnt seen early adopter issues in any phone before. Welcome to the real world

I haven't followed the iPhone carrier situation closely as of late, but is there any chance that the new iPhone (or some iPhone) will end up on Verizon or T-Mobile (or even Sprint)?

the 960 x 640 resolution comes from Daring Fireball. That site said it was a lock and the writer has been very good in the past at differentiating between his conjecture and what he knows from sources.
