this is for california but:

In general, you do not need to re-register because you are registered to vote for as long as you remain at the same address. However, there are cases in which voter registration can be cancelled if a voter has not voted in several consecutive general elections.

I tried to vote via absentee ballot and completely forgot that I'd have to send it through physical mail. I spent an hour trying to mouse over the document so I could copy/paste the contents into an email, and when that didn't work I started tearfully jabbing my monitor with the ballot, hoping it would enter the computer like a reverse Ring girl.

My mom caught me doing this and muttered something about regretting not getting an abortion, which only reconfirmed my support of Trump. But then a bunch of girls my age came by and said they wont have sex with me because of my political beliefs, and THEN when I walked to a polling place they said I can't vote because you have to be 18.

Plenty of it probably is. But these people like Trump, linked him to an unrelated cartoon frog, and think ethics in video game journalism is an important issue. The idea that they might be huge idiots isn't that far outside of the realm of possibility.

That's ridiculous. Without registration, you are risking double votes, non-citizen voting, as well as other voting tampering issues.

Uhhh you're auto-registered to vote. The government knows who you are, if you're eligible to vote, what your address is. So they send you a voters card which you present with your ID on voting day.

No nonsense extra bureacracy step of having to register to vote like in the USA.
