Boerewors

This stuff!!!!!! Married into a South African family and this is one of their delicacies (I guess?). Initially I thought to myself what's the big deal it's a fucking African hotdog but after awhile you can really recognize the difference spices involved. Still more or less a hotdog to me just with a different flavor that's super recognizable

My fantasy is that my girlfriend was actually a young high school girl.

I like Italian sausage. It's the best pizza topping, better than pepperoni. Especially if it's ground and not sliced.

OP is inside my head.

As a UK citizen it could be argued that my nations reputation for food is wanting. But I am thrilled at the variety of sausage I can get my hands on with little effort.

And it's this variety that elevates sauasges to the top of the food hierarchy.

TL;DR if it is shaped like a sausage then I will put it in my mouth.

Breakfast sausage is a controlled substance. It beats out bacon for me.

I can take or leave other kind of sausage though. Got to be in the mood for it.

Here in Brazil we have two kinds of sausages: hot dogs and linguiças

Our industrial hot dogs fucking sucks, bland as bland can be, makes me wonder if that’s really meat and not some kind of cardboard or something

Now, linguiças as pretty neat, there’s a lot of variety and it matches with everything, fried, with rice, in barbecues and specially alongside Brazil’s most notorious dish: Feijoada

I'll give some examples with images.

This is Linguiça Toscana, one of the most popular:

This is Feijoada, usually there's more meat ingredients, but sausage is a mandatory one:

Bonus: Mortadela, this is a kind of giant sausage that we slice and eat with bread

This is São Paulo's most iconic sandwich with mortadela:

It's impossible to talk about this without innuendo but in all seriousness these are awesome and have none of that gamey taste hot links can have...

if you can find them enjoy some of Earl's meat.

I don't know if I've ever had a really good sausage. Like, I'll buy brats from the store, sometimes even the more expensive ones, and they are good, but I've never gone out of my way to find really high quality sausages.

Ahhh nothing better than some good sausage, I am truly blessed with awesome meat and saussages here in bavaria <3

I was in Wurzburg for 6 years in the later half of the 80s, I loved it there. Of course it was West Germany at the time lol

Growing up in midwest - I loved summer sausage and Brats.... that was a staple at any parties, bbq, gatherings etc.
Can't find good ones in NY/NJ though... (near my place in NJ at least) that I can easily snatch some when I get the urge. (And no, Johnsonville doesn't cut it..)

Other than that - I really like all types of sausages. It really shows that a pig really has nothing to waste. Polish Kielbasa, is one of my favorite too. I use them to make Jambalaya, instead of Anduille sausage. (Can't find good Anduille sausage around here either)

Even though it's not really a meat filled, but Korean Sun-Dae is one of my favorite too. So light and yummy, and can't beat the Sun-Dae Gukbop in a chilly day, or after night of a heavy drink...
