God Of War: Ragnarok Voted Most Anticipated Release Of 2021, According To IMDB Poll

Definitely mine as well as the first was easily my game of the generation last year and one of very few games in recent years where I've liked both the gameplay and the story. I'm usually suffering through one for the other just to have enough to play.

It is seeming a little unlikely that this makes it out this year to me, but I can wait. I don't mind my PS5 being underused this year as I'll have plenty to play on my XSX and Switch. I always own multiple platforms as I'd have droughts with nothing to play otherwise since I don't play time sink MP games.

Makes sense that movie fans would want a Sony "game"

All we've seen so far is a logo and we're supposed to believe that this game is a 2021 release?

We've seen more from some 2022-2023 releases.

Horizon will probably be pushed to later this year due to covid meaning no room for god of war, which it will prob be delayed until March/April 2022 much like the response of the last game which honestly is a perfect release date because all eyes will be on them then

My grandmother told me that this game won't come out this year.
I on the other hand can tell you that the game will have on option for 60fps.

I think the game was good in all aspects except the one major thing, combat. Just didnt care for it. And the new one will never achieve the hype and that awesome preview scene when kratos came out of the dark. It really was a strong ending and sets up perfect for the sequel but really not interested.

Not really something to brag about, Monster Hunter Rise is below Mario Kart 9 and both are below Lego Star Wars.

Are the users of IMDB actually stupid, or are they just pretending?

This ought to stir the pot a bit.

GoW 2018 was shit and Sony's tendency to move towards the TLOU model of storytelling is killing any sort of variety in their major AAA exclusives when it comes to presentation.
Hey hey hey, just because you're right doesn't mean you get to go around saying that kind of shit.

Only one of those is highly anticipated by millions of people. And I'm only highly anticipating the other one.
I'm guessing you are talking about NieR Replicant. I'm highly anticipating both especially Rise, it been long time since I was this addicted to a demo.

Well, Elden Ring at least had a trailer. :lollipop_content:
I'd call it CG teaser.

Did Nintendo announce Mario Kart 9 for 2021? I didn't that they officially announced that game, even if it's a safe bet to think it will be released somewhere in the future.

Yeah, that's what it was, but at least it gave some idea of the artstyle of the game.

I don't have anything against gow, but man... I hate those "logo reveals" like this one, metroid, bayonetta... They tell nothing about the game.

Only Monster Hunter I've played was World. It was fun for a while, but I don't feel the urge to play another.

I'm all about Nier though.

It's safe to say it will play very close to the framework set in the last game. There are lot more unknowns about Elden Ring than Ragnarok.

I asume they'll showcase GoW Ragnarok with a gameplay trailer during the digital E3 or whatever digital event they have this summer. Since it's a direct sequel I assume its art style will be basically like the first game, but now with native 4K 60fps, better lighting, shadows and raytracing, dual sense features and 3D audio on PS5 plus more detailed 3d models and textures, running in an improved version of the engine of the previous game.

The previous one already looks awesome today, so I assume they will put the wow factor instead on the epic battle that we can expect from a Ragnarok setting, because I think the art style and visuals will be pretty similar to the ones seen in the previous game.

Looking at how the supply vs demand is with PS5, I assume they did prefer to avoid increasing the hype back then, and to save the related hype bullet for later once everything is back to normal, instead of wasting this bullet when all consoles are already sold out and they can't ship more.

Yeah fair enough, I don't think will differ a lot from the previous one, although I would like to see some improvements in those RPG-lite mechanics. Not much else to complaint honestly.

Btw! I would suggest you to try MH Rise, it's pretty much like World but with new cool mechanics like the dog and the wirebug (grapling hook).

yurinka yurinka man, I hope it's as you say. I'm not really interested in getting a PS5 for the time being, but if I ever get one a game like the previous GOW but better would be a system seller for me, althoug I wont be in a rush to get it. Bloodborne 2 or Persona 6... Let's just say I hope the system is more available by the time those release. :goog_relieved:

Whatever you need to tell yourself.
Yes cause it makes sense that 15 times the people are excited for gow over Mario Kart. Hell it's like 8 times for far cry 6 over Mario Kart. Keep dreaming if you think any Sony game is gonna sell better then Mario Kart. Which means more people want to play Mario Kart yet less people voted for it.

It was for me too, UNTIL THEY ANNOUNCED GHOST n GOBLINS RESURRECTION!

THATS RIGHT, I'M YELLING.

No way Ragnarok releases this year

Hard to be excited for Mario Kart in 2021 when Mario Kart hasn't even been announced. You are focusing on Sony, but look at the list. Far Cry 6, Hogwarts Legacy, RE Village, Diablo IV, Gotham Knights, and others. All these received more votes than Mario Kart 9. Why is it hard to imagine anyone, not just Sony fans, but any gamer would vote for games they know are on the way rather games that haven't even been announced?

What about Monster Hunter Rise? It's got 36x less votes than God of War. I'd happily wager that Rise will sell over 15 million copies world wide, but it's only got 10 votes in this poll.

This isn't about sales though. Call of Duty outsells most games but you don't see it on lists like these. I'd say it is hard to keep a following by jumping around platforms like Monster Hunter has.

Maybe the poll was taken amongst the 16+ demographic?
I'm nearly 40 and in all my gaming life Mario Kart 64 with friends is probably the most fun I have gaming. Still have a 64 and Mario Kart and my nearly 40 year old friends love it still.

The list seems random to be. Also this is important but I'm not saying it as a bad thing. Maybe The thing that makes Sony fans Sony fans is also a thing that makes them like to vote for gaming polls. I could see an argument if gow had more then a splash screen shown. Also rise has a PC launch in the fall and PC was Monster Hunter worlds best selling platform.

My main issue with these and other results is the sales data never backs up the poll data. That means the data is being skewed by something. That something most logically to me is for whatever reason Sony fans look for and vote in these polls more then any other demo.

While I don't agree GOW PS4 was shit I do think it was overrated. I don't know how any reviewer could give this game a 10/10 after playing through that boring Elven section. GOW 3 had better combat, a more interesting dramatic story and graphically was more impressive for it's time. That's why I'd much prefer Raganarok to be a PS5 exclusive that really pushes the boundaries.
