Ok, getting back on track, godhatesfags.com is an abomination and that it got hacked is really, really cool.

*nod*

And see below for a post of actual merit.

There is a fine line between stating one's belief and incitement, and this subject is one of those which test where it is. When I came in strongly for freedom of speech earlier in this thread, it was just to be clear that I do not think it is something we should be quick to cast aside or even be outright dismissive of. With my/our government trying very hard to hold people without charges, search without warrants, and dismantle the wall between church and state I grow weary of the knee-jerk constitutional writeoff.

Freedom of speech is meaningless if it only applies to statements we find pleasant. I fully support the right for people to publish such views on their own dime*, and my job, and I hope to say "our job", is to use my right to rebut them and show how flawed/sick/dangerous their positions are. Now, statements and actions are not the same. Using a website to coordinate harassment or violence against people is NOT acceptable.

* BTW, in case you didn't know, Gaming-Age Forums are privately owned and operated. ;)

I would say that they have a right to say anything that they want. Hacktevists claim that they have a freedom of speech right to deface sites in protest. I don't agree with them however since their protest explicitly treads on the ownership and copyrights of the owners of these various sites. On a website no one is forcing you to hear a message so they aren't infringe on your right to not hear them and I would argue that in this manner they have a right to say whatever they want.
