I Just got word that I landed a job on a school campus and with that I can go to grad school for free and all, and I want to get some feedback on whats the best route to go... I have been out of school for like 3 years and I am trying to see whats a good field of study right now...

I have my BA in Business administration and a specialization in MIS.... I was thinking Computer science would be a good route, but never did anything with it in undergrad...

I'm starting an MBA next year (have a BS in Computer Science) and I hear that's the common thing for pretty much any degree if you wanna get into the business side of things in the future...

My only experience with a masters program is my wife's experience. She has her BS in Psychology and going for masters in community counseling. They kinda go hand in hand although you don't have to have a psychology background to do a MA in counseling. Out of the other's in her course (small class), only 2 besides Sarah have backgrounds in Psychology and the ones who don't are struggling quite a bit. I dunno how much they assume for a MA in Computer Science, but ther's a LOT out there to be learned so unless you have a really good grasp on PCs/Servers/LAN/WAN/PAN topologies it might be difficult.

Going from a Business Administration degree to a CS masters will probably require some undergrad courses for remedial work. CS is alot of algorithm studies and stuff like that and depending on how you specialize you may end up doing alot of different stuff (there is a group at my school in the CS department that specializes in modeling system tolerance and reliability with dynamic fault tree analysis for example).

Finally bought a new PSP, but then pushed the demon onto someone else. Jesus.
I need to finish undergrad. I got in legal trouble and got expelled my junior year. That was in '96. I get weekly lectures from my parenst about how I need to finish, but I'm just not motivated.

I have to go because I want to... Not for their benefit.

Business to CompSci would be a bit weird.
It really depends on what fields you're interested in, but a lot of CompSci is focused on coding, algorithms, and math-like theory.
If it genuinely interests you, go for it.

Personally, I'd do something like get an MBA or go for a law degree.

LOL,

yea I figure that doing something in Comp sci would be tough, I will probably just take some undergrad comp sci classes, or just go the MBA route... I have time to decide... thanks for your help so far..

Hey, I'm currently doing my undergrad on business and minoring in computer science, so you're pretty much where I am heading to right now. As far as I think, and what other people have told me, your best route right now is your MBA. That is one of the degree that will seperate you from the blue-collars to the white-collars... so it would definitely benefit you a lot if you go for a MBA.
