I have a class I'm taking while I'm here in Iraq and I have access to all the standard weapons in the Armory up to sniper rifles. Anyone have any requests?

Dual wield , then when you are done use a sniper rifle sideways "gansta" style

Sounds cool until the recoil on that sniper rifle busts my teeth out. I was outside the other day and I think I saw a sniper with some sort of rail gun or something. I've never seen a gun like this before in my life. It looked like a sniper rifle but it was at least 5.5 ft long.

Everyone was just staring at the guy carrying it.

requests for what? that doesn't really make any sense.

Well basically they are given me open range to test out any weapon I want. I mean I'll use an M16 and a 9mm and a 50 cal but if there are any other weapons that anyone wants to get a description of I was saying let me know.

what kind of .50 cal? barret m107? tell us what the recoil is like

I'll be honest with you I have no idea. Basically they are rounding up folks that go outside the wire and showing them how to properly handle a weapon in the event th the shit goes down. We aren't required to carry or use a weapon in fact this is kind of a come if you want to becasue there are messy leagl issue with arming a civilian. So it is billed as a weapons safety course.

see if they've got anything suppressed/silenced and tell us how loud it is depending on caliber, that'd be pretty interesting to know

Should use the M60 just for shits and grins. I used one in ROTC and it is a blast :)

My brother shot an RPG in basic training, though with a dummy rocket. I would like to know about that, if you have the chance with live explosives.

FAMAS! Metal Gear Solid style.

Meh, that sucked basically they showed us how to load and fire an M16. There were "eyes" around so we had to play by the rules.
So you didn't TK?

loading and firing an M-16A2 or M-203 is a piece of cake. Let me know when they show you how to clean and maintain that monster. Man, still have nightmares from that.

I'll probably do some cleaning in the next day or so. In other news you can get an AK-47 in town for about 50 American dollars if you want matching serial numbers it will cost you 70.

Best advice I can give you is to remember where all the spring elements go :) You don't want to have your instructor embarass you by picking up the rifle and pulling the trigger and nothing happens :lol
