Good cell phones for under $100?

I'm currently on a T-Mobile prepaid plan and desperately in need of a new phone. The T-Mobile stores around here don't sell phones without a new activation (read: I want to keep my old number, and they won't let me swap over), and the guy there just sort of stealthily advised me to go buy a phone on eBay.

Any recommendations?

I'd like something with MP3 playback and a flash card slot, compatible on T-Mobile's network, and that usually sells for under $100 on eBay. Those are really the only hard n' fast requirements. VGA camera and video playback might be nice as well, but not necessary. Currently I am looking at the Nokia 3660 but I'm hoping someone here can suggest something better or more recent (that will play back stuff besides RealVideo *blech*).

Also....any tips for phone shopping on eBay? Scams or catches I should be aware of?

i doubt your going to find a cell phone with any of that for under $100. Hell, the cell phone i have is a p.o.s. that doesn't have any features and it still sells for like $170. Your best bet will be to ebay and hope you get lucky with a bargain.

Actually, the Nokia 3660 has MP3, flash card, video camera, and audio camera....and it regularly sells for under $100 on eBay. I am just thinking that there might be something better for a similar price.

Someone else turned me on to the Motorola MPx200 which doesn't have a camera but it runs Windows Mobile, and will play pretty much any media file (Divx, Xvid, MPEG, MP3, WMA, etc). It runs $130 on eBay but you can probably grab it for less the $100 if you shop around or get one "slightly used". It looks nice, though I'm hoping that someone might know something that does all that with a VGA camera.

Prices on phones seem to fall pretty fast. Check eBay before you pick up your next one....particularly if you got stuck paying $170 for something without any media features.

oh thats not what i paid, i got it free for signing up. It was the best one they had at the time so i took it, but no way would i have paid full price for it. I was thinking about buying a new phone, but prices seem way too high to me (and i don't ebay) so i'll probably just wait until my contract runs out and get a deal from cingular.

Heh....that Sony model looks nice. Too bad that the eBay price is well over $300-400. I can't bring myself to pay that much for something I might leave lying around somewhere or drop or break or whatever.
