Good news for PS2 owning, 2D shooter loving Europeans

A long title for a 'simple' game. The game, or games, in question are Gunbird and Gunbird 2. Thanks to Empire Interactive both games will come out in Europe this year on Sony's system. Original post can be found over at the French site Gamekult.

I own Gunbird 2 on DC already, but for the gamers who want to play 2D shooters this ofcourse is great news. Which reminds me, a long time ago Gunbird (or part 2) was brought to the US too, but under a really lame name and accompanying boxart. What was the name of that game?

Awesome shooter yep. I also own the DC one as well as the SS one..There are so many releases I doubt I'll get it.

Why Konami doesn't release a Parodius collectioN ? *sigh....*

Why hasn't Mastiff or XS Games picked up ESP Galuda for US release I'm wondering...

I wouldn't be surprised if SCEA stood in its path. Wasn't Agetec kept from bringing over Dodonpachi Dai-Ou-Jou for that reason? I wonder if they'd have a problem with a DOJ/Galuda double pack.

Castle Shikigami 2 made it over here. XS confirmed on their company message boards that SCEA MADE them localize the voices, but approved the game otherwise. Its about as traditional as you get.

It's still 3D, though. Cave shooters are 2D and nearly as low-res as Metal Slug 3, so I can imagine SCEA treating them like ebola.
