Developers will still need to support OpenGL for many years to come, considering how many phones won't run Android N.

"I don't have time to download the parking app!"
Such a Sillicon Valley problem.
It's a huge deal. HUGESo Google basically re-invented webpages, except written in Java.
there are tons of situations where an app is the best way to interact with something, but you can't be bothered to go and find the app and install it, because you don't use it that often.
And I bet nearly half the car parks in the UK have the ability to pay via phone app, so it isn't just a fancy silicon valley thing.
It's not about time, but more about how streamlined and convenient the experience is.

The real value is access to the full suite of a phones api. Thats already the only reason why we have apps over websitesSo Google basically re-invented webpages, except written in Java.

I must of missed it. Any link on details? They showed Android home earlier.
Practically "kill those stupid mobile pages and do something smart instead".
It's more like for aspiring programmers rather than seasoned crowd. First year college.
Apple level of marketing done here and nothing else.

https://www.google.com/android/betaHow does one download the most recent N beta and how do I go back to default stock if I decide? (NEXUS6P) Didn't they make it easy to get into the beta?
Remind me guys...the beta will automatically update to the final release on the phone OTA?
You may remain in the Android Beta Program beyond the N release to preview future Android N maintenance releases (MRs). If you choose to do so, you will automatically get an OTA update to pre-release versions of the MRs as they become available. At the end of the program, you will begin to receive regular public updates.
i'm thinking it'll be a normal update
anyway, everything is on The Cloud™ these days so I won't lose much
Yes, that actually started with the N release:
Nevermind, I see its over. Does anybody know where the keynote is archived?
