From the March Android OS chart, Jelly Bean and up devices are 95% of all Android devices being used.

That's pretty huge for Android Instant Apps.

there are tons of situations where an app is the best way to interact with something, but you can't be bothered to go and find the app and install it, because you don't use it that often.

And I bet nearly half the car parks in the UK have the ability to pay via phone app, so it isn't just a fancy silicon valley thing.

It's not about time, but more about how streamlined and convenient the experience is.

I was joking.

Altought obviously I doubt most people pay for parking with their phones.

There are times where you need an app, but will likely not use it again for months! Like airline apps. Instant Apps is great for this. It will keep your phone clean of unused apps.

At first you were supposed to use the web to add features to your phone, then you had to download apps and now we are back at the web.

Make up your mind, people.

That's it folks.

Was hoping there's be some Chrome book news, either hardware of software.

Amazing I/O and really the best in Android history tbh. Lots of great changes and additions (most I'm going to buy) but it looks like Android is officially a complete package. There really is no room left for excuses. My only gripe right now has a lot to do with Allo and Duo..I was so sure they were going to officially be the Hangout/Messenger replacement but I guess not. Hopefully that does change in the future but this is the Google I'm really really impressed with.

So if you want to go back to your previous version of android you need to do a wipe but what happens when N actually launches? Would I need to wipe also or would it be a normal update?

i'm thinking it'll be a normal update

anyway, everything is on The Cloud™ these days so I won't lose much

How does one download the most recent N beta and how do I go back to default stock if I decide? (NEXUS6P) Didn't they make it easy to get into the beta?

Remind me guys...the beta will automatically update to the final release on the phone OTA?

Yes, that actually started with the N release:

You may remain in the Android Beta Program beyond the N release to preview future Android N maintenance releases (MRs). If you choose to do so, you will automatically get an OTA update to pre-release versions of the MRs as they become available. At the end of the program, you will begin to receive regular public updates.

Except SMS messages. That's the only thing I completely lose unless I manually back them up. Get on that shit, Google! Can't be very hard. (And don't say Google Voice. That doesn't exist in most of the world.)

Also some game save data, I guess.
