Right, but it normally comes out to being more expensive than buying it off contract. The nexus 5 for example is currently $70 more from T-Mobile than from the play store.

The Nexus line was an outlier before. Most other phones cost the same as the off contract price. Since Google went with carrier pricing this time you will get the standard pricing on the phone.

Um that has nothing to do with buying it full price or having it financed. All the Nexus devices are more expensive at carrier stores. If you bought a GS5 at T-Mobile full price it would be the same price as if you would have bought it financed.
I'm not sure what you're trying to say. The nexus 6 costs the same whether you buy it from T-Mobile or the Play Store. Throughout this thread people have been talking about buying it from the play store because they though it would be cheaper than buying it from a carrier. I was just pointing out that that's not the case with T-Mobile. Which is a big change from the nexus 4 and 5 which cost more when bought from T-Mobile.

Maybe I'm mistaken but I feel like you and jazzy network are thinking that I was talking about how the installment plan cost the same as the phone outright. I'm referring to the fact that it's the same on T-Mobile as it is on the play store. Which many people before were thinking otherwise.

I was referring to the N5. Obviously when I said all it didn't include the N6. Bothe the N4 and N5 were more on T-Mobile stores than they were on the Playstore. Which is probably the reason they thought it was cheaper on the Playstore. You said this:

What do you mean by normally? Because if you're referring to financing it, no it normally isn't unless you are only referring to the N4 and 5.

So the Nexus 6 goes on preorder in Canada tomorrow, how does this usually work? Do preorders go up at midnight? And do I preorder from the Google Play site?

Considering this goes up for preorder tomorrow and nobody but Google knows which regions, there's no reviews and nobody appears to know anything, it just proves how much Google don't know what to do with a flagship android device.

I just think it's going to be a huge flop. I predict off carrier pricing at $499 or less within a few months, but by that point phones with the Snapdragon 810 will be out and noone will want this anymore.

I agree, as much as I wanted this device to replace my iPhone 6, I just don't feel that anymore because of the way Google are releasing this.

They don't care. They will all sellout pretty quickly regardless. Google really doesn't care if this sells a lot or not because it is not even close to their core business.

After the hoops I had to jump through to preorder the GSM Galaxy nexus from overseas, I don't see a issue with the device, price, or how they're releasing it. Of course the release could be better with more details, but I'm happy I don't have to go through that anymore. The device then was about $900 after everything was said and done.

Ain't happening.

Google doesn't give a shit.

I live in Washington State. If I buy through Google Play will I have to pay tax?

Just like the Nexus 5..... oh wait

So what about cases or pouches for this N6? I always use a case or pouch. What model of phone would match the fit of the N6?

I don't see any accessories on the Goog site either.

I don't think it will flop but the launch shows that Google android devices are not as important as I thought to them.
It's why I think the more they lock android down the more it will flop.

I wish they would say what time tomorrow they go up for preorder. I've ordered every nexus phone day 1 but they sell out so quickly and it doesn't help the play store gets hammered and gives all kinds of errors usually.

Opted for the Moto X instead, but I hope everyone enjoys the Nexus 6. It looks amazing on paper and I'm sad not to be going from N5 -> N6, but the phone is just too big for my hands.

What does the Nexus 5 at $349 have to do with the Nexus 6 at $650?

What does the Nexus 6 processor have to do with consumer decisions? :P
They don't care. They're going to see this giant phone and be confused, then after a minute of playing around with it I bet many will take the plunge because of that Lollipop goodness.

I wish they would say what time tomorrow they go up for preorder.

It's not going to be midnight?

Looks that way. I'm in WA, when I put the Nexus 5 in my cart on the Google Play Store it applies tax.

Damn :( Any ways around this?

Eh? Android isn't any more locked down on phones than it ever was. Sure Google don't open source Gapps, but they never have. Neither have they open sourced Google Play Services which has been a brilliant way to back port API's without relying on manufacturers or carriers to update to the newest version of Android. From an every day users point of view, Android is as customizable as it ever has been. And anyone can still use AOSP to build their own version of Android should they wish.

Gotta say, one thing I will not miss this year is the anxiety you guys are experiencing now in trying to pre-order this device.

Best of luck to you all!

The Galaxy Note 4 has a very similar size, so I'm sure any pouches for that would fit the N6 just fine :)

For some reason... I feel so frightened that about pre-ordering the phone. I do want a Nexus phone on Verizon. I really don't like my GS4 too much. I would kill for a faster, more vanilla OS and does incredibly well.

However... it's $650 for a phone that may be too big for me. I don't have the biggest hands, so it may really be too big. I'm afraid the camera may be worse than my GS4, even with HDR+.

I do have to ask though, even though it does work on CDMA, does it rely specifically on CDMA, or could you take the phone between CDMA and GSM networks in the States?

Droid Turbo baby.

Droid Turbo baby.

Honestly, the capacitive buttons kinda turn me off, even though it would be nicer than the physical fucking home button on my GS4. The thing is, between the Nexus 6 and Turbo, which would have better value over time (if I wanted to sell)? Also, which one has the better camera?

Canadian pre-orders got delayed.

I would be mad, but I wasn't going to buy one until I got reviews anyways

I think its the exact opposite. They care enough to build something to go against the major competitors and not compete on price. That's really about building a lyxurybbrand in the space, not saying they don't care. Not by a long shot.
