I'm speaking more about the Chromebook and (most likely) the Speaker. I'm still shocked no one has made a Home Alternative that still runs on its ecosystem, Google is probably not allowing it.

Automatic tethering is awesome.
I wouldn't buy this because if I'm spending $1000+ on a computer, I have to be able to do development on it, but I like some of the tech being demo'd here.
Love the tech, the Wacom stuff.
I'm sure you can hack it, but it sounds like the hardware and software will be pretty tightly integrated, particularly with how this pen might work. Even with completely locked bootloader, someone will figure it out.

Many chromebooks have used core series processors. Its just the brand name. The pixelbook may be using a better one, but thats not solely going to explain the price. Build quality, materials, displayall these will be factored in. Ultimately it will priced against machines with which it is meant to compete.

You seem pretty mad at Google, buddy.
Most Chromebooks are capable of having Linux put on them either to replace or dual-boot (or co-boot) with Chrome.
I'm super excited for these.
