Google Pixel 2 - answers are coming Oct 4th

Love my Chromebook Plus, but I think I topped out what I was willing to spend on a Chromebook with that purchase. What they're asking for this thing is insane.

Google really wants people to use Google Assistant.

Like to the point I'd not be surprised if they are giving our handjobs in the audience for people to shill for Google AI.

Many chromebooks have used core series processors. It’s just the brand name. The pixelbook may be using a better one, but that’s not solely going to explain the price. Build quality, materials, display—all these will be factored in. Ultimately it will priced against machines with which it is meant to compete.
I mean, that's a given. All I'm saying is this won't be cheap.

I remember when they used to make Nexus phones and they were cheap and they were awesome. What happened to that Google?

Like 90% of the time, and almost 100% while at home, I'm using my laptop right now it's remote access to my powerful desktop. The other 10% is pretty much all stuff I can do on a Chromebook.

I might get a Chromebook next for the Android apps on tablet functionality, but unfortunately this one is outside what I want to spend. It looks great though.

The thing is more than often the "OK, Google" command doesn't work on my phone. I'd love to use it more often but it fails too many times.

I will go on record that the second Assistant starts giving handjobs, I am switching back to Android.

I absolutely don't understand why you'd pay $999 for anything with ChromeOS on it

Youtube will run really fast on that thing!

Price is terrible.

You can make a nicer Chromebook than the entry level stuff like Samsung showed, for like half the price.

$999 with a “Boot Camp” ability to load Windows would make it a tempting device, but I would never ever pay $999 for a laptop than cannot load fully decked out Photoshop.
