German site JoWood News is reporting that JoWood, the European publisher of Gothic 3, has recently received a substantial bid to sell the XBox publishing rights for its hit CRPG.

JoWood's CEO Albert Seidl has been contacted by an American company offering several million dollars for this rights.

Gothic 3 is made by the German developer Piranha Bytes, and is a highly anticipated open ended RPG game in development for the PC platform. The game is due out later this year.

It's inevitable, what pc dev, given the chance, wouldn't want to make a game that could hit the huge audience consoles have? What publisher wouldn't jump at the chance? In the pc world, the most you can hope to sell is around 1 million.

I dunno...the PC has roughly the amount of exclusives it's always had. And this gen, there were a lot more ports TO the PC than in any console generation before it. Hell, look at the top 10 Xbox games on Gamerankings. 7/10 are on the PC (as superior versions, to boot).

Really, the PC will get most of the cream of the console crop, and consoles will get the good PC games that are conducive to being ported. That automatically puts the PC on top.

Almost all of the good exclusive stuff is a) on the PC or b) sports games. Everything else is on the PC.

I couldn't care less what games are or aren't released on a given platform but since just the thought of some PC game possibly coming over to the 360 is giving you a brain aneurysm, I'm all for it.
