Granblue Fantasy |OT| English Translation available as of 2016/04/11!

I'm confused with spending CP. the guide says attack boost is great, but those boosts only come into play if you keep playing the game as that class right? Why would I do that when I am trying to unlock Dark Fencer? I've maxed 4 jobs now and haven't spent a single CP.

Do you not spend any until you max every single class?

Don't spend CP on EMP if you don't feel that you have excessive amount of them. Unlocking classes is a priority and you'll get EMP from exping.

Got these 2 from the lucky draw thing:

He seems like a bog standard attacker (and his weapon is a dagger for some reason despite clearly being a sword >_>)

She has some sort of mechanic based around a clock? Sounds interesting

Got my first SSR - Charlotte. Is she good?

Should I build a water team around her? So far I've been working on my fire team since Alec is my best character and I plan to get Percival once the draw that lets you pick an SSR appears. My summon pool consists of mostly fire summins so yeah. Running Colossus Omega raids whenever I can but not a single weapon so far, just one SSR summon. Only started doing it a few days ago though.

Still, at the moment I have the most success when running a mixed team with a Grand Order support summon.

I think she is pretty good. I started with her.

Charlotte, Yodahl, Lilele is considered good water team.

If you get Yodahl as your next surprise draw, you could run Charlotte/Yodahl/SR Katalina (the one you get in the beginning) and run a decent water team in the beginning.

Managed to beat the hard Colossus Raid by myself using a hastily put together water team. Didn't even use Dark Fencer. Feels good.

Got my 3 missing harps in 3 consecutive Baha raids. I think I have about everything to upgrade up to element change, minus the certificates, that will take a bit longer (I think I'm going to buy some with the spare tokens from past events).

I prefer my bard currently to other character types though harps seem in short supply. Refresh and Charming abilities have been lifesavers.

Did one of those discount daily premium draw since 90 coins seems so cheap. I did get an SSR weapon and character so the tdollar investment has already paid itself off. I finally have all items with skills which has been helpful.

You gotta tell us the character too! :)

What is it that makes Dark Fencer so amazing? The ability to delay the charge attacks?

That and Mist, as Se7enSword said. Trick is, you can stack Mist and Arrow Rain III for 50% atk reduction. Really useful on most encounters (if it lands, ofc).

Edit: Quick question. Are these the mats required to upgrade SR Bahamut Weapons to SSR?

What does reducing a summon give you? Say, an SSR summon. Not sure if I should just keep these summons I'm not planning to use

I think it depends on the summon. But they generally give rainbow crystals and some other useful items. Always reduce, never use them as fodder.

Yeah, if that is your dagger grats for getting it to skill level 10 :p.

Thank you, was having a bit of trouble deciding between dagger and gun, but I might just get the gun and upgrade a dagger once Yoda is no longer useful, since getting 3 horns seems like a very long term objective.

Edit: No way no way haha I borrowed that picture from the ultimate guide. I just wasn't sure if that was the SSR upgrade or a lesser (GW weapon-style) one.

Well, I wasn't going to use them as fodder, but keep just in case I ever make a team of that element. Like, I have a handful of Druj, but no plans to ever make a light team (though I do have 2 light units). Not sure to MLB or to reduce.

Separately, what's the best way to get raid materials, e.g. pots, for the event raids? Just doing the 10/15 ap quests?

I don't know which is the best way, but i'd recommend getting the animas from the casino as well. You can get 3 per each once a day.

I think Casino and the easier raids of said versions, pretty much cover it. Although I stopped doing the easier raids because I don't want to use 25AP for it. Thats too much.

I still do all 18 hard raids a day. It's the only way I have to max out my renown points each week.

Hey all - I'm not nearly as hardcore as you folks and I'm still pretty new, but I'm at rank 32 or so and trying to figure out what I should be focusing on.

I haven't spent any cash yet, and likely won't unless there's a mega-good reason to. Only SSRs I have are Narmaya and Heles, and I'm not sure if I should start focusing my grind and quests on a particular element or not. Here's my current spread of SRs:

Soriz seems like a really great attacker but I'm not sure if I Have any other standouts.

My weapon pool is still pretty low too; a batch of SRs but no other SSRs beyond the two character ones above. I have a lot of Fire and Water skills but that's kind of it, and I have dick-all for Summons.

So I'm sort of torn. Should I begin trying to specialize in an element and build a better weapon pool? Wait for another SSR to nudge me in a direction? Just keep plowing through the story (only on Ch 18)? I love the game but it's somewhat overwhelming here. Any suggestions are greatly appreciated. :)

Edit: Been reading through guides linked back a handful of pages, and the xiei.moe one is fantastic - sounds like I'm squarely in the 30-50 rank spot. It sounds like attempting to build a fire team around Heles might be less pain-inducing than a dark team around Narmaya? Someone explained back in the thread why light and dark teams were tougher to build up as far as weapons but I couldn't quite figure out why.

You are. 5000 points gets you a SSR omega weapon of your choice.

If I'm just starting out on my weapon pool, is it okay to grab the SR weapon with the med atrack up skill?
Leviathan doesn't drop shit for me so I'm thinking of getting one. Plus maybe another one by trading items after I get the SR Leviathan summon.
I hosted two raids and got nothing, jumped on at least five hosted by others, got just one SR dagger with med attack up.

In comparison, I have the Colossus and Celeste SSR Summons plus some different weapons from hosting other raids and farming renown points.

Burnout territory if you try grinding each magna daily.
I just waste my daily BP/AP allowance and that's that.

I'll pop 3 or 4 pots and just do most during strike time. I can one shot them all and I'll get thru 12 or so. Then I'll do the remaining as AP recharges. During guild war it was different, I was only doing 6 or 9 a day

Bearing in mind I'm at the stage where my party hits for about 9k (or 20k buffed out the teeth with all debuffs on a boss) this is all kinds of broken

Nah she has ward.

Because she kills the boss before the boss can use a debuffing move

It counts

I wouldn't. Renown takes quite awhile to accumulate and it won't be long before you are seeing SR weapons drop frequently. Within a month or two they'll be nothing but fodder. Save it for the SSR weapon. It's the long game but the progression curve of granblue is so good you probably won't even miss it before long.

Just keep joining raids for Leviathan whenever you have EP and eventually you'll get some good stuff.

When you're farming a particular event for an SSR MLB, you're also probably going to have enough SRs from that event to MLB as stat sticks if you so desire.

In fact a 1400ATK gun from April Guild War that's basically useless which I MLB/leveled up as a Discord gag is still in my weapon pool as a stat stick while I collect things to actually use.

8 more silver certs. Afternoon is a good time for bahamut. Too bad I'm at work most days.

On the bright side, I have enough gold certs for the next step already.

I hate casino so much I'm gonna blow all my chips on losing and never play bingo ever again.

This is why I would never recommend someone to play bingo unless they are willing to lose all their chips in a short amount of time. The guys who are successful are just the lucky few who were able to hit super bingo or guys who are able to lose hours farming again in poker should they lose their all their chips playing bingo.
