The odds are not in your favour but the appeal of poker is that the rewards vastly outweigh the cost you put in when you get it. The only problem is that you need to devote lots of time grinding.

Im just waiting for the legend time (is that what they are called?) at the end of the month when the rates are doubled. As if I am reading the FAQ correctly it's during this time when you want to start as there may be units that you can never get ever again.
Dark Souls 3 fills the slot nicely until then.

I'm close to 30k points in the Suzaku event now (already have 10k dagger). Would it be worth grabbing the 30k katana, even if I can't buy the scroll (15k points) to unlock its full potential, or should I grab other stuff with it?

I opted to get some of the other stuff. I don't have a fire team and I knew my chances of getting even 40k points were pretty low. I got gold tickets, rupees, AP pots, dagger and saving points for next event.
But that's just me.
This is so much more compelling than FF Record Keeper it's not even funny. I'm loving it so far; I'm at about chapter 8 and most of my party is hitting their level cap (the only SSR I have is Narmeia (Nerumeia? The dark attack samurai) of 20 or 30. Is it worth it for me to spend some time getting the mats to uncap their levels (the rest are SR and R), or should I just advance the story more and wait for some better character rolls?

And yeah, I've been playing this event quite a bit. I'm looking forward to the SF collaboration, but I'll be out of the city for this coming weekend. I'll be able to play a bit on my phone, but I won't be able to dedicate myself to grinding it hardcore. Here's hoping I can make up enough ground when I return, I need those characters/skins!

i gotta admit. Im loving this game
I find I switch genders depending on jobs (or if Im bored) as some animations/outfits are better on each gender (the male superstar's casting dance for example)

this event will come back in like two months so if you don't care about the fire sword/seal, slack away
Ryu/Chun Li are the same skin, just one is when you are a guy and one when you are a girl

The gold certificates are used for limit breaking SSR characters.

Same here, but I stumbled upon 5 or so by chance. They are so sought after they last less than a minute before hitting the player cap and closing. Best of luck haha

I'm working on a fire team right now, almost have dark fencer unlocked, got the dagger from the suzaku event. My only SSR character is fire so I figure that + the weapon is a good place to start even if my water team seems a little stronger atm.

Star Legend lets you do a 10 pull for 3000y that guarantees you at least 1 SSR
Seriously, between rerolling, start dash, and now surprise ticket, any new player can have the exact team they want.
I got Lucifer through rerolling and Jeanne from start dash, should I ticket Amira?
I could also ticket Petra to go with Nezahualpilli and Feena but the lack of a wind summon makes my light team with Lucifer so much stronger
Oh correction, you cannot ST Grande/Lucifer/Bahamut. lawl. And yea, Amira would be next. IF you want to suffer with light.
