Granblue Fantasy: Relink demo available January 12 (JST) on PlayStation

I finally played the demo and went into it as someone who's unfamilar with Granblue and what it's about.

+I enjoyed the visuals a lot on quality mode, its vibrant and catches the eye. The 30fps mode feels good.
+Combat mechanics were both serviceable and fun
+I appreciate the large party
+I enjoyed some of the music I heard

-Most enemies provided no challege at whatever the base difficulty was
-Some of the big bosses were damage sponges to a point I felt was excessive
-Not a fan of the segmented map design, generally this is fine but I do appreciate some cohesiveness. Xenoblade has spoiled me
-The hub area quests seemed a bit barebones, like you select go to quest and then you're teleported to the area and it's just a battle.

Really for me now it comes down to the story, characters, world and the demo didn't really focus on those things.

I think I'm happy to wait and play this later in the year after 7R, P3, Like A Dragon, Stellar Blade and a few other games. I hope the game is a success however as I can see the devs have put in a lot of effort to make a great game for their target audiences.

I played it and started to like it the controls feel a little off, but I got used to it. The game feels like Genshi Impact & Monster Hunter had a baby, with Borderlands Graphics.

IM torn on PS5 or PC

Played the demo for a bit tonight. Thought it was weird that you couldn't change the control scheme in the tutorial section of the demo.

Since probably not everyone checks the sticky threads of this sub-forum, I wanted to say that I'm working on the OT for the game, and will probably have it up this Saturday or Sunday the latest. Stay tuned! :p

Other than the resolution being low, it was a very impressive demo. I didn't even know what the game was and now I want to buy it. Just not day one, it's like they found the worst possible launch window with Yakuza, Persona, FF7, Dragons dogma and Rise of Robin. I fear the sales will be really lacking.

I'm buying Relink, Reload and Rebirth day one but I agree with you, I don't know why all them suddenly decided to release their games in same damn month.

Looks pretty good overall and I'll probably get it at some point but man is it baffling that they were only able to hit 1080p in the 60fps mode on PS5. Went back and checked and Tales looks waaaayyy better technically. Really hope the release version has a higher res.

It won't be lacking in the slightest. The Gacha crowd will be this game on a heartbeat and the Granblue Fantasy fans are very supportive of the IP. In that sense is very much how the Fate series sell their games well enough to justify their sales, but this time Relink has way more budget and appeal than those games. It'll do just fine.
